I’ve been coming to Christy’s Restaurant for over 25 years. This visit ended that relationship.
Strike one: my partner was told to remove his fedora hat—petty, outdated, and unnecessary.
Strike two: I was told there would be no separate checks, only a forced split down the middle. Rigid policy, zero grace.
Strike three: My friend was told she could not taste a white wine ordered by the glass. At this price point, that’s unacceptable.
Then came the moment that eclipsed everything else. We decided to leave. The owner, Chris, told us that we didn’t belong there. We were a diverse group, respectful, longtime patrons, and paying customers. That statement crossed a line from poor service into outright disrespect.
This wasn’t about tradition or standards—it was about exclusion and tone. A restaurant’s legacy collapses the moment its hospitality does.
One star. A deeply disappointing end to a 25-year loyalty.

I always enjoy my time at Christy's. The Diabla cocktail is excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and the sparklers were a nice touch.

I am reluctant to give this restaurant a five star review, because I don’t want other people to know how great it is and ruin it. This is a classic spot in the heart of coral gables. I’ve been going to Christy’s my whole life, but the quality of food and service has only increased lately. My server tonight was so lovely. I LOVE this restaurant.

This is old school done extremely well. The dark ambience is extremely well lit. All of our dishes were well prepared and very tasty.
Wine service was spot on !
The wine list has all the usual suspects favoring New World style wines. The small list of old world style wines was well chosen. The laminated list tells me it doesn’t change very often.

The Caesar salad is absolutely delicious, safe to say the best in town. Served on a heaping plate, served for two. Every corner of the salad is covered in dressing.
We ordered the Prime Rib, and all I can say is wow. Extremely juicy and savory. Christy’s Gruyère potatoes au gratin was an incredible addition to our meal.
Thank You Christy’s !!

We have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years and have mostly enjoyed our experiences.
However, last Friday night was disappointing.
To start the hostess forced us to sit in the bar area on a high top table since we brought 1 extra guest.
Then the service was slow and inconsistent with used plates piled up on the tiny table before being cleared. The area was loud , bright and crowded with people constantly walking back and forth by our table. The main meals were OK, we ordered the prime rib which was average but a bit tough considering the price. However, the sides were terrible, (at $16.00 each) we ordered the Mac and cheese and asparagus. The Mac and cheese was cold floating on milk separated from the cheese , tasted terrible!
And the asparagus were also cold and just 5 small pieces with some white cream drizzle on top, also totally inedible. We had a terrible experience from start to finish and spent $590.00 for the pleasure. Needless to say we will not return any time soon!
I have had much better experiences at casual steakhouses for 1/3 the price.

Christy’s is one of the best Steakhouses. The service from Leo was outstanding. The food is amazing & prepared to perfection.
The ambiance is warm & cozy.
One of my all time favorites.

Service and ambiance was great. Timeless restaurant with lots of history. However, the 20oz ribeye, which was ordered medium rare, came out dry and medium - no juice. I don’t usually give places a lower review but I was truly unimpressed with the meat for a steakhouse. The baked alaska also looked cool but did not impress.

⭐️ 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Christy’s
I’m truly disappointed with my recent visit to Christy’s, a restaurant that calls itself an icon in Coral Gables but delivered one of the poorest dining experiences I’ve had in Miami.
First, the service was unacceptable. I ordered a specific bottle of wine, and they brought a completely different vintage without informing me. When I questioned it, the staff justified it instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering a proper solution. For a place that claims to have a serious wine program, this is inexcusable.
Then came the food. My filet mignon was served almost burned and at the wrong temperature, far from what I requested. Instead of correcting it, they continued to make excuses—blaming it on Thanksgiving Day and the restaurant being busy, as if that justified delivering substandard quality and service.
To make things worse, the restaurant doesn’t even offer a kids menu. For a place that positions itself as a classic, family-friendly Coral Gables institution, this was surprising and inconvenient.
All of this reflects what seems to be a clear issue with poor management. Instead of taking responsibility and ensuring guests receive the level of service Christy’s claims to represent, the staff spent more time offering excuses than solutions.
Overall, nothing about this experience matched the reputation Christy’s tries to project. Wrong wine, overcooked steak, no kids menu, poor service, and even poorer management. I expected a refined, iconic dining experience and instead received the opposite. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on what I experienced.

dont waste your time, worst service ive experienced in a long time and food was mediocre at best. Had people sat after us who got drinks and appetizers way before we were even asked if we wanted still or sparkling. I never expect for anything free but i wasnt even granted a simple apology for the wait. Seems like they dont need new customers after 30 years and they definitely wont be getting a new customer out of me.

We came to celebrate our 39th anniversary here because we’ve always had terrific dining experiences. This time was no different. The waitress took excellent care of us and the food was delicious.

Hi, I've been coming here for 30 years.
I'll never come back here again, I'm happy for them that they're doing so well.
It was unbelievably noisy, service was horrible and the food is now mediocre at best.
We where six of us a bill was over $800 and we were asked to leave because they had more people coming in and they needed the table.
What a shame, we drove all the way from Aventura to come here.
We used to live in Coconut Grove before
