Did not know it was an outside eating only, in the back of the store. There is no free parking so need to consider that into the dinning activity. Hopefully the food is good, I would not ir eat there with the impression I got. Sorry, I understand we all need to live and work but when it comes to food the place needs to be clean and presentable.
No me pusieron las habichuelas en mi orden para llevar, no les importo que no me pusieran las habichuelas, y las chuletas estaban mala… pero me cobraron…no pierdan su tiempo ni dinero…..
It was about 7:30 in the evening and my brother came to visit from North Carolina. It was his last evening before heading back home. We were headed to another Puerto Rican restaurant but it was closed already. So as we were heading to another place we noticed the restaurant Oby so we stopped in. It was great. A little small but they have an outside area, and that's where we headed. The food was great. Waitress was polite and very efficient in what she was doing. All in all I am glad we stopped in to this restaurant.
Great Puerto rican restaurant. Chef obey makes amazing food and the front of the house os extremely nice and helpful.

Mmmm Good. Puerto Rican food.

(Translated by Google) If I could give 0 star I would give it. I passed with my family and I don't know if the lady who attends was not on her best day but at the beginning she told us in a VERY loud and unpleasant way, if you want you can sit outside (it was raining), the tables were wet. Obviously the place is super small but that doesn't mean they can treat people that way. If you don't want to work Sunday, just don't open it. Obviously we went as in addition to everything the place had a peculiar smell. I definitely do not recommend it.(Original)Si pudiera dar 0 estrella lo daba. Si no desean trabajar domingo simplemente no abran. Obviamente nos fuimos ya que además de todo tenía un olor peculiar el lugar. Definitivamente no lo recomiendo.
This place has potential, however they need to work on their seasoning. I ordered pernil and arroz con gandules. The pork was dry and tasted like nothing. The rice also had no taste. If they change the chef, they would do really good because honestly they have a really good menu and good prices.
Wow... if I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never gone out of my way to write a bad review on food because I have never had such a horrible experience. We ordered two traditional dishes from this place : the lechón asado with arroz con gandules and instead received a terrible meal. Where do I begin? The pork, lechón, instead of being juicy flavorful, marinated and shredded came to us as big chunks of chopped up pork tenderloin extremely dry and with zero flavor. The majority of the pieces even had pure fat attached which weren’t even edible. The arroz con gandules was also very dry, flavorless to the point I had to put a ton of salt on it just to even see if I could salvage it. And my other side of maduros were all completely burnt, also not edible. I ordered two of these exact dishes and they both came the exact same way. It was the worst food experience I’ve ever had here in Miami and a true disappointment to the typical Puerto Rican dish. Needless to say I will never from this place again. Luckily, we got this through Uber eats and we will get our money back but the disappointment of waiting an hour for this quality of food ruined our appetite. Just being brutally honest.

The best puerto Rican food in Miami.
When I'm craving frituras, mofongo or any Chinchorro style dish, this is my go to place. I love the laid back atmosphere, the great food & excelent service!
Absolutamente delicioso!!!! Cuando de comida boricua se trata, Oby sabe lo que hace. Excelente atención de su esposa Vanesa. Todo lo que comimos estuvo delicioso. Recomendado 100%
El Chinchorro de ObyI was looking for this small restaurant I saw on Yelp on a rainy day. GPS tells me that I have arrived at my destination but I miss it. If it wasn’t for a lone Puerto Rican flag by the door, I almost keep driving and dismiss it as if it was a false Yelp page. Thank God I did not! This little place is tiny, with a counter that sits about four people max and a small table for two. They specialize in takeouts mostly but we were able to snatch that little table for two. From the start, the lady at the counter was super nice and we immediately felt welcomed. We ordered an alcapurria, which for me is something I order to gauge the level of what to expect from our meals. Is it overcooked? Is it undercooked? Is it fried on burnt cooking oil or fresh? How a restaurant serves you an appetizer is very telling of their level of attention to detail. Luckily for us, this appetizer was perfectly cooked and it had a very well seasoned ground beef that was very flavorful.I, of course, ordered a Mofongo with fried pork chunks, which is one of my favorite all time meals while my wife went with her go-to chicken breast with salad and tostones. Both of our meals were very satisfying with a nice authentic Puerto Rican flavor. My mofongo was soft and moist with the nice flavor of green plantains. You would find the flavorful pieces of pork grind mixed in too, just like they make them back at the island. The pork chunks were flavorful but a little too hard and challenging to cut through with the plastic cutlery that we were given. I’m sure I would have enjoyed it way more with a good fork and knife in hand, but nevertheless, I can see myself ordering the exact same dish next time I buy dinner here again. My wife was very happy with her meal too.Overall, we will order to go next time, or for delivery. I am curious to see how this mofongo will travel. One thing I noticed is that they don’t serve the mofongo with chicken broth on the side which would probably be a great idea to include, especially on a delivery. Plantains dry up so a side of this could revive it back to its full flavor.I’m very happy to have found this place and I recommend it.
Outstanding service! Delicious, freshly made hot food! We will definitely be back!!
