I've been coming to this place for a long time, but today they chose $40 over keeping a loyal customer. Obviously, the staff doesn’t care, but I’m sure management would. There were 7 of us, and we paid around $220 in cover, which is supposed to go toward consumption. When it was time to close the tab, one of our friends was in the bathroom, so their $40 cover couldn’t be used because the waitress closed the check quickly (probably to make sure she secured her 20% tip), which is understandable.
When we mentioned that part of the credit was missing (MARCELA had already closed the check), the waitress MARCELA assured us we could get those $40 in cash at the entrance which turned out to be a lie. When we spoke to the manager, she told us that wasn’t possible. This isn’t about the $40 we actually gave it to the bouncer as a tip. It’s about how problems get handled.
Nothing against el patio, management’s vision is clear but it’s sad to see a place with such a good reputation be affected by certain staff members. Especially the bouncer and the manager.
We lost $40, they lost 7 customers!

The bouncer, who claimed his name was “Julio iglesias” but when I tried to record him refused to say his name out loud, said he doesn’t accept Asian women in his bar and wouldn’t let us in, but let in a lot of older men who he seemed to know. When we left the neighborhood they were exceedingly rude even taking videos of our uber as if they have never seen a woman of color before. I can’t recommend this for anyone who is not a man over the age of 45. Picture attached of the offending man.
