Visited Fonda Sabaneta (Colombian restaurant in Southwest Miami), for the first time in late November 2025. My wife and I were actually heading to a nearby restaurant when we noticed how crowded Fonda Sabaneta was. We decided to check them out and upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by a gentleman seated at the table by the door. We exchanged pleasantries and continued to sit at a table closeby. We were immediately presented with a menu and two small cups of chicken soup. The menu was in both English and Spanish but we did not recognize any of the menu items. While we were pondering the menu, a server came over to take care of us. Unfortunately for us, she spoke very little English but she wasted no time, in getting us someone else. Manuel came over and he was a delight. He took the time to explain the menu to us and when we asked for recommendations, he was quick to point out some items for us to try. He was spot on as all the meals he suggested were to our delight. So much so, that we have been back 3 times since our initial visit. A delightful experience from we entered Fonda Sabaneta until we left.
Manuel is a responsive, professional and knowledgeable server. He was patient with us, taking the time to explain each item we asked about. He always brought out our meals in a reasonable time. We felt he took very good care of us on all 4 visits. For one of the visits, my wife went alone to pick up take-out. On the subsequent trip to Fonda Sabaneta, Manuel not only remembered us, but he also remembered what we had for take-out. Upon seating us, he asked me how I enjoyed the dinner my wife had picked up. I was really impressed by that!

The waiter Andrés was really nice, kind and helpful. We didn’t eat full courses just appetizers and were good. I don’t like is the volume of the music, it is so loud that you can’t talk ( today we seat outside but i have come several times and that is the only thing i don’t like).
