I would recommend this motel for visiting downtown St. Augustine. It's affordable, and across San Marcos Avenue, there's a free shuttle service (white buses) that runs every 15 minutes during the Christmas and New Year's season. This allows you to visit the city center without the stress of parking or traffic. In my opinion, it's a good, convenient place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Came here on our drive up from Biscayne mostly to nostlagia and Fuddruckers has still got it. Great deal for a big burger that had solid flavor. Compared to something like Five Guys, this is as good if not better and it is cheaper. The vibe is nice and cozy too.
