As a Japanese, this is the only place I would call authentic in Miami. The balance between sushi rice and fish, is beyond amazing. For their service and quality, it makes sense that the price range is higher but its Miami so compare here to others, it definitely worth it!

Truly a unique and authentic experience that is not easy to find in South Florida. Celebrated a birthday here and it was tough to find a part of our evening that wasn't made flawless by the excellent staff that work here. Their sharp attentiveness and warm and welcoming service made it a memorable night along with the stunning quality of food. The chefs clearly have a passion for culinary art and it was a privilege to dine here. We cannot wait to return.

Amazing restaurant and an unforgettable experience! Everything was top-notch — from the warm welcome at the hostess desk to the impeccable service, perfect ambiance, and talented, happy chefs preparing incredible sushi right in front of you. The fish is as fresh as it gets in Miami. Truly 120 out of 100!

Chef Mike is so sweet and amazing! Highly recommend
Truly the most amazing dining experience of my life and when I say experience I mean EXPERIENCE. Miguel the general manager was incredible at guiding us through the dishes, pouring our glasses, and making us belly laugh. The service never lacked. Every napkin that was dropped by the table was instantly replaced and our table always wiped off every drop. Milo our server was educated on every dish and made sure we had everything we needed. I recommended this place to every person I know. You need to come here at least once. 11/10

I have family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 kid) to dine in. We sat on a table. We ordered 3 omakase ( 8 courses tasting menu), along with my kid miso soup, chawamushi, and some nigiri and a tekka roll).
Omakase tasting menu costs $180/person. I ate at Sukiyabashi Jiro (Sushi of God in Tokyo) before. Nowadays people are obsessed with the word "Omakase", but have no idea about omakase and how to differentiate good or bad one.
Hiyakawa omakase in my opinion is only average, not worth the money.
My son had miso soup (costs $6), this is just an average miso soup, no like adding any special ingredient.
Chawamushi $10, its just regular dashi added steam egg
Bafun Hokkaido Uni, but they dont specify the grade of the Uni, i tasted it, i think it is Jo grade Uni only based on the color and texture of Uni.
I am Shima Aji friend- but tonight the shima aji doesn't give me that buttery taste, the texture was firm and fleaky bite as usual.
My daughter ordered uni temaki, sushi chef brought the temaki to her, there are a piece of uni dropped off from temaki on the plate, the sushi chef just wiped it to his hand and put back to his sushi bar ( YES, I SAW IT CHEF!!) The temaki is not even the regular temaki suppose to be.
Overall i dont think it's worth the price.
