What a lovely little place. I love being able to see where the magic happens, you can watch the kitchen and the faces behind your food from the seating area. There’s something deeply satisfying about that connection.

The care and detail that go into each dish are unmistakable, and it brings real joy knowing you’re being served something made with intention something worth coming back for. This place is truly a gem. One energetic young lady seems to run the show effortlessly, a barista who brings a sense of calm to the space, and a beautifully orchestrated kitchen working together to create an experience you’ll want to return to again and again.

Some reviews mention a wait time, but this is an experience, not fast food. Quality takes time. If you’re looking for a 15 minute breakfast, IHOP is always an option. If you’re here, it’s because you want something done right and it’s well worth the wait.

I’m literally still sitting at the table as I write this. We just ordered with Miranda, who was warm, sharp, and genuinely welcoming. Then Joaquin, the chef and owner, stopped by our table and had a really pleasant, unforced conversation with us. No sales pitch, no ego, just pride and care.

And here’s the thing, the food hadn’t even arrived yet when I was already impressed.

You can tell right away when a place is being run by people who actually care. The staff, the energy, the location, everything feels intentional and well thought out. Jealous Fork earned real credit before a single plate hit the table.

We started with the burrata, simple yet sophisticated and a perfect way to begin. Clean flavors, nothing trying too hard, just done right.

Next was the steak sandwich on their house made ciabatta. This is worth mentioning because I’ve had ciabatta that’s so crunchy it hurts your teeth. This wasn’t that at all. The bread was soft and pillowy, still doughy in the middle, with horseradish and cheddar that didn’t overpower anything. Even the steak itself was impressively tender for how thick it was.

I finished with a chocolate chip pancake, which was an excellent way to end the meal. Comforting, satisfying, and exactly what you want it to be.

We also had a banana matcha latte, which honestly surprised me in the best way. Balanced, flavorful, and not gimmicky.

I really can’t wait to come back. This place is doing things the right way.

We went there for lunch, having seen reviews about the food. The food was good but not what we had read in the reviews and the price was steep for what we ordered The service was lacking, friendly when you walk in but other than taking the order, bringing out the food, and the check, never bothered to see if we needed anything…refills would have been nice.

Based on this experience and price, I would not recommend .

My family and I stumbled across Jealous Fork on Google because we wanted brunch at an establishment we didn't have back home. I'm so glad we went. The food was delicious. I thought I was trying dishes from a cooking competition.
The owner explained some the pairing. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend.

Nestled in the vibrant Tamiami neighborhood of Miami at 14417 SW 42nd St, Jealous Fork is a gem that started as the country’s first artisan pancake food truck back in 2019 and has since evolved into a cozy brick-and-mortar haven for American comfort food with a creative twist. Founded by culinary innovators Joaquin Ortis and Henrik Telle, this spot blends nostalgic eats with innovative flair, earning rave reviews for its pancakes, burgers, and serene backyard vibe—perfect for a laid-back brunch escape from Miami’s hustle. With a Travelers’ Choice award from Tripadvisor and a 4.5-star average on Yelp from over 460 reviews, it’s no surprise it’s a local favorite. I popped in on a sunny Saturday morning, and while the wait was about 20 minutes (totally worth it), the experience delivered on every level.
We kicked things off with the flatbread appetizer, and oh boy, it was on top point—crispy-edged, loaded with fresh toppings like roasted veggies and a drizzle of herb-infused oil that had us scraping the plate clean. It’s the kind of starter that sets a high bar, simple yet executed with that Jealous Fork magic that makes you jealous of anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.
For mains, the hamburger was a standout: juicy, perfectly seared patty on a buttery brioche bun, piled with melty cheese, crisp lettuce, and a house sauce that hits all the savory notes without overwhelming. My tablemate raved about the pulled pork sandwich just as much—tender, slow-smoked shreds in a tangy BBQ sauce that pulled apart effortlessly, served with house-made pickles and a side of seasoned fries. Both were massive portions, bursting with flavor, and easily in the running for Miami’s best casual bites.
No visit to Jealous Fork would be complete without diving into their pancake legacy, and the banana walnut pancake didn’t disappoint—it was very, very good, fluffy stacks infused with ripe banana sweetness and crunchy walnuts, topped with a caramel drizzle that felt like a hug from brunch heaven. It’s clear why they’re dubbed “Florida’s Best Pancakes”; these aren’t your average flapjacks—they’re elevated, gourmet artistry.
Dessert brought a minor hiccup: the affogato and strawberry fizz were late to join the party, arriving about 10 minutes after our mains (a busy kitchen moment, perhaps?), but once they did make an appearance, they stole the show. The affogato was a dreamy scoop of vanilla gelato drowned in hot espresso, creamy and bold with just the right bitter edge. The strawberry fizz, a fizzy mocktail with fresh berries and a splash of soda, was refreshingly tart and bubbly—ideal for cutting through the richness of the meal.
Service was warm and attentive overall, with our server Chi Chi (shoutout!) guiding us through the menu like a pro, though the slight delay on drinks kept things from being flawless. Prices are reasonable for the quality—entrees hover around $15-20—and the backyard seating added a chill, tropical oasis feel. If you’re in Miami craving inventive comfort food that doesn’t skimp on taste or portions, Jealous Fork is a must. I’ll be back for that churrasco next time. 4.5 stars—jealously recommended!

Where do I start? This place was a great hidden gem. The service is phenomenal, all of the servers were very kind, knowledgeable of the menu, and great vibes all around.

We started with a Banana Matcha Tea and Salted Caramel Affogoto, and they were flavored excellently.

I had the Lemon Curd & Blueberry Pancakes and they were the perfect touch of sweetness, not too overpowering.

My wife got the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with an added egg. Delicious is an understatement, the savory flavors were dancing all over my tongue.

The dishes were on the smaller side but enough to leave you feeling satisfied.

I would recommend securing a reservation before coming to ensure you get an indoor seat, but they also offer a few tables outside (to seat 1-2 people) and chairs at the bar.

You have to try this place if you’re in the Kendall area.
