La Picaña Grill - Biscayne

Stumbled upon this place walking for a different food spot and decided to eat here instead, and I’m very pleased that I made the choice. It has been difficult to find restaurants that know how to actually cook in Miami so I was very pleased today and will be coming back here to explore the different drinks that they have on their menu. I ordered this blue cocktail and it was a perfect combination is sweet and subtle flavor of wine.

They have these cool milkshake looking drinks, but I did not try them yet and plan to one day. Had the stuffed tostones for appetizers and they were by far my favorite ones I’ve tried. Then I ordered the Venezuela bowl and it was a lot of food and all the flavors just came together very well. Love the atmosphere of the place, definitely coming back here again! Also many gluten-free options to enjoy!

“Oh my God… if you’re Black, please stay far away from this restaurant. The waiters were all so nice and respectful 🙏🏾, but the owner was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. I was just trying to have some me-time, relaxing and eating my food, minding my business — and she started being mean to me for no reason. I’ll never go back there. Treating people like that is wrong. We’re all human, so why judge others?”

My wife recommended this place bc ists close to her office and has a lunch special. So i came w my daughter after school. And she loved the picana steak and the brownie for dessert. I also liked the music. Our waitress Michelle provided excellent service. Def be will come back

This place has great food with even better service! My husband and I were visiting while on vacation and the food was amazing! But then I accidentally forgot my phone and the staff held it until we were able to return to retrieve it. I’m so grateful for this experience and look forward to returning in the future!

​A Major Setback: The Loss of Brunch at La Picana Grill in Edgewater.
​Overall, the place continues to impress with its great service and high-quality food. The staff is attentive, and the dishes are executed well. However, a recent and significant menu change marks a crippling blow for loyal patrons: the discontinuation of their breakfast/brunch service. For many, including myself, the late breakfast/brunch menu was the highlight and the best thing they had to offer.
​Furthermore, the restaurant appears to have an overly agile, or perhaps erratic, approach to its offerings. The menu seems to shift constantly, almost at the slightest indication of public demand for or against a particular item. While adaptability is valued, a stable core menu is essential for a restaurant to build a signature identity and for the kitchen to find its rhythm. They need to give their menu a proper chance to resonate before making drastic cuts. The fantastic quality of their meals is now overshadowed by the void left by their brunch.

We live around the corner and it is great to find this little gem. It’s a little dark from the outside so sometime you’re not sure it’s open but the food is really good and the pricing doesn’t feel like you’re in Miami - super reasonable. Great place!

Came here with my date and the service was something I would not wish on anyone. The server was disinterested in serving us and catered to everyone around us. We waited for about an hour n a half and was a complete waste of time. Never got food, never got drinks, just sat there as we watched persons AFTER us get serve. Stopped her several times asking about drinks or service and was dismissed.

Terrible experience at La Picanña Grill. We were not seated and told to find a seat. Then waited 30 minutes just to order, only to watch the waitress take the order of a table that arrived after us. They of course got their drinks and we got nothing after sitting for 1.5 hours! When we finally got her attention, she just said “one moment” and never checked. We left.

The service was inexcusably slow and inattentive. It's unacceptable to prioritize newer tables over existing ones, especially when we're still waiting for our order.

Given the poor service, i would never return or recommend.

I was in Miami for a day last week on my way to celebrate my 50th birthday, on a cruise. My daughters and I stopped by this place for lunch and we are glad we did. I am a Chef by trade but I am also a vegetarian/vegan so I love to try new things. The atmosphere was nice, cozy, friendly, and clean when we walked in. The server was a courteous and polite young woman who escorted us to our seat. One of my daughters ordered the stuffed steak avocado which she said was delicious, my other daughter ordered the pork tacos and empanadas and loved them. Let's talk about my order, the shrimp mofongo without the pork belly. It was amazing! I ate every bite from my plate and left no crumbs. The rice was cooked perfect and the mashed plantains had an amazing flavor to them. The creme sauce with the shrimp meshed well together with the dish and added that extra kick and I wanted more.
