The seafood was incredibly fresh and full of rich, savory taste. On top of that, the atmosphere was exceptionally cozy and inviting. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a high-quality meal. About two weeks ago, my family and I decided to try Mandolin after my wife saw it recommended on Instagram. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
First, parking was a nightmare. The restaurant is located on a busy avenue with little to no available parking nearby. We ended up having to park several blocks away in a neighborhood that didn’t feel safe walking through with kids.
We were seated on the side entrance, not the main patio, and ended up sitting directly under the sun. They had fans with mist, but unless you want water spraying in your face while you eat, they’re basically useless.
The real issue came when we were served the appetizer a trio of dips with vegetables and bread. I picked up a piece of cauliflower, dipped it into the red spread (not sure of the name), and the moment I took a bite, I felt something sharp. I spit it out immediately and was shocked to find a piece of glass in my mouth. It even cut my tongue.
We called the manager right away. To his credit, he came over quickly and seemed genuinely shocked and concerned. Our waiter was also very apologetic and attentive throughout no complaints about the service itself. However, I’ve dined at restaurants around the world, and I’ve never experienced anything like this.
If it weren’t for the fact that our kids were hungry and already waiting for their food, we would’ve walked out. My wife and I shared a fish dish, and our kids had the steak kebabs. The fish was full of bones, despite the waiter assuring us it had been deboned just what you want after biting into glass. The food overall was underwhelming and the quality was far below expectations.
While I appreciate that they comped the meal, I’m not the kind of customer looking for freebies. My concern is and always will be safety and this experience crossed a serious line. We will never return, and I urge anyone considering this restaurant to think twice. If glass in your food and questionable food handling doesn’t raise red flags, I don’t know what will.

This restaurant was garbage. They basically threw the food on the table and walked away. I specifically asked the server, Angela if they could bring the meals out and announce the dishes so we could know whose order it was at a table of 9. The server informed me that that would not be possible. Additionally, when we made requests we were not given them without asking multiple times.
