Why can’t down south have nice things?
I specifically looked for a mom and pops bbq place like they have up north and I came across Mustard Seed Ribs. I ordered a jumbo combo plate, a corn on the cob with butter and salt and a slice of sweet potato pie (which I’m including a recipe for cuz how???)
The Good: The person taking the order and the people serving were really nice-10 out of 10!!
You get a good amount of food on that platter- enough for two.
The price was reasonable: I spent $26
The ear of corn was hot
The slice of pie was medium-large
The Bad well… the mediocre:
I’ll start with the corn: they use margarine (not the same) - why use margarine when you can sit a tin of real butter on the grill and roll the corn in it! It’s butter so it won’t go bad like that AND. Rolling the corn in it will have it last forever (you were one step away from something so simple, one step away from greatness) The salt and pepper seasoning you have in one container is not working - the pepper blocks out the salt so you get mostly pepper. So on my corn it tasted like margarine and pepper on barely sweet corn- NOT good for anybody’s tastebuds- here again trying to take shorts is effecting your business
The chicken portion tasted like they were boiled but with a lot of liquid smoke then finished on the grill not a bit of seasoning or dry rub just smoke and sauce and the dusty mouth feeling of dry overcooked chicken.
Same with the ribs but just not as dry. You could also work on the Carolina sauce base - it is ok but it’s not great. Also stop being tight with the sauce because folks gonna need something to moisten up that chicken and rib ends.
Finally , The sweet potato pie: The bottom of the crust was soggy - tasted like straight white sugar and sweet potatoes- y’all know there are spices in sweet potato pie right? I’m including a sweet potatoes recipe that I use- I can’t claim it cuz it’s not mine, it’s actually better than mine and what I’m serving this thanksgiving… because it’s better than mine. I challenge you to be better , I challenge this business to be great because you deserve success- KEITH LEE SUCCESS but what you served tonight ain’t gonna get it.

Went there Saturday for the first time and man I mean they are the best ribs I have ever tasted im from Georgia and if I could come to Miami every 2 to 3 days just to get ribs I would the bbq sauce is to die for let your bread soak in your sauce you want regret it I will most definitely be coming back friendly people and good food!

I Love this place best Ribs & Chicken in town hands down. They also has very goodsides like cakes, pies, rice, souse, corn on the cob.

I’ve been picking up ribs and chicken from this place for at least 10 years. Their Carolina mustard sauce is off the chain. I just decided to review them and thinking about the food I’m going to get some now.
