New Wave Billiards & Sports Bar

Good billiards spot, terrible bar.
Came in here a couple of nights ago with some friends for the bar since it was nearby and seemed like an escape from upscale and bougie Miami.
Bar seemed nice at first but we quickly realized we ended up at crappy bar and should have just Ubered somewhere else. when we first got there the bar wasn’t busy which would typically be ideal but we had to constantly flag down the bartender . As someone that comes from the restaurant industry i understand if you’re swamped and hit with a rush that you can’t get to every customer in a timely fashion but when I see that you’re constantly going on your phone and eating chips in front of customers + having the help of a bar back and an empty bar? Come on man there’s just no excuse at that point, me and my friends constantly went a while waiting for another round, it’s one thing if one person has an empty glass and is waiting for the next round but when you take so long to the point where the whole group is waiting then that’s just a bad look, multiple times keep in mind. Bartender also seemed to have a bit of an attitude.
Would not recommend coming here to drink, you’ll go a while waiting on a second round lol
Also charging more then 4$ for a beer in plastic cup is crazy, this ain’t a frat party lol

Bartender very inattentive and rude

love coming here to play pool.. after having a rough evening decided to come with some friends to have drinks to try to enjoy the rest of my night. waited roughly 15 minutes at the bar until someone acknowledged us and took our order. we were barely checked on throughout the night. after my friends and i each had roughly 2-3 drinks in the span of the 3.5 hours we were at the bar, the bartender cut us off. my friend politely asked for another drink and she said “i’m not serving you guys right now” in a rude manner. don’t really understand why we were cut off as we were just minding our business and listening and dancing to the music. very disappointed in the customer service, will not be coming back here anymore.

I genuinely enjoy playing pool here but the bartender tonight couldn’t have been more rude. I sat down with my friend first and after 10 minutes she wouldn’t look at me. Then my boyfriend comes over and another 10 minutes with no eye contact. And no…it was not busy. I’ve worked in the service industry and this woman was purposely ignoring us. After 25 mins we asked Paola and she was beyond kind to us. She talked with us, served us right away, and made us feel welcome after the other women made us feel like we were being bullied.

Used to frequent this place when I was in college and always had a good time. Went recently and the vibes were still the same! Great drinks, great atmosphere, great times. Only reason I gave New Wave a 4 instead of a 5 is because Austin the barback has the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced with someone working behind a bar. Blunt, rude, didn’t even look me in the eye when he was answering a question. Victoria saved the day at this space.

I've gone here a few times in a group, and we can't really complain. It has mumerous tables, so if there's ever a wait time, it's short. In my experience, I've, at most once or twice, had to wait. The servers walk by often, offering to take orders, be it drinks or food, and there's never been a mixup with the orders. Pricing is also decent, especially when divided by the people. It's the go-to pool place for my friends and me for all the aforementioned reasons.

Place so dirty, host was disrespectful, everything about this place was a disaster. Please dont go

The service is slower than a turtle and the staff doesn’t even look you in the eyes. They make you pay if you want to hear something else than rock, and then they don’t even put the music you paid for. Terrible.

This place is a joke.

Walked in with friends just trying to enjoy our night, and the front desk woman immediately hit us with attitude like we personally ruined her life. Not just rude — straight-up nasty. No hello, no decency, just pure bitterness wrapped in fake authority.

Then it gets worse — she decides, without checking ID or speaking like a human, that I’m a minor and kicks me out. No questions, no explanation, just a loud, embarrassing scene. Power trip much?

If I wanted to be judged, disrespected, and talked down to by someone miserable in customer service, I’d go to the DMV — at least they get paid for the attitude.

This place doesn’t deserve your time, your money, or your presence. Trash staff, trash energy, trash experience. Don’t bother.
