This is review is about an Uber Eats order. I have been to the restaurant a few times and I order delivery A LOT, but this time it was really bad. One of the nigiris from the OMA Deluxe was so bad I smelled it as soon as I open the box, I did not eat it (pictured here). The order of the Ikura nigiri was really disappointing, it had like 3 pieces of rice and 4 ikuras, most of them did not look fresh at all (pictured here). So sad they send their bad and old fish for delivery orders, they just lost a loyal customer.

I went for the first time today with my husband and while I was excited at first, I left disappointed.
1. The service wasn’t as elevated as to be expected for what I believe they’re trying to sell. For instance, she didn’t even ask us if we had any allergies or didn’t share any recommendations. In addition there wasn’t much information about how to eat the meal properly. For example, you might want to eat fish vs rice side on your tongue to get the flavor of the topping. The devil is in the details and I felt they missed many.
2. The food. For me the sashimi was cut too thickly and so I was focused more on the texture of the fish rather than enjoying the flavor of the sauce. In some instances the flavor didn’t add to the fish but rather removed from it. It was above average at best. I also think the hand rolls, while the temperature of the soy paper was fine, it contrasted too much with the temperature of the fish which felt unbalanced. I’ve eaten many many hand rolls and just wasn’t what I was hoping for.
Again, I really wanted to enjoy it because I am such a foodie, but frankly would recommend uchi in Wynwood as a much more sophisticated and memorable experience.
