Always delicious food, fresh seafood, and flavors of Italy. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in South Florida.
Sapore di mare has some of the freshest seafood in the Grove with a friendly atmosphere and excellent service. We always receive a marvelous reception from Eileen who goes out of her way to give us our favorite table. The specials are always changing on the chalkboard and are well worth trying, we had scallops carpaccio, tuna tartar and halibut. All three dishes were excellent. We will certainly be following Sapore when it moves to its new location on Main Highway in a few months
The BEST Cacio Pepe ❤️😋 all the food is fabulous, but the truffle Cacio Pepe is exceptional!!
The service was quite disappointing. It took nearly 15 minutes for someone to come to our table after we sat down. Throughout the meal, I had to raise my hand every time we needed something, as the staff rarely checked in on us. Our water glasses were never refilled unless I specifically asked for it.
Seats next to the entrance are very crowded and very hot- heat from outside blows in everyone the door is opened.
Valerio was our server and was amazing. Ordered the sea food risotto was on point, octopus delish and veal milanesa superb.
Today I had a wonderful experience . I ate incredibly well. The food was fresh, high-quality, and perfectly prepared. I want to congratulate Chef Ray and the entire team at Sapore di Mare for their care and excellence in every detail. It was a truly pleasant experience, and I will definitely be coming back.
Would not recommend although I have to say we did not stay and eat. The ambiance is bright and light and very busy for the dinner scene. We showed up for a 6:30 reservation. The host was not friendly, she didn't even say ”come with me” after checking us in. She just grabbed 2 menus and walked away so we followed. We were hustled through a tiny dining area which was cramped with people, every table full. Food on the plates looked seafood heavy and pretty basic. Once we sat down, we discovered it was wine only. Which was disappointing but still we were open to trying the food. The server was the reason we left .... He was cold and impersonal. Didn't even greet us. Just walked up and handed menus and walked off. After a bit he came back and and started rattling off the specials while showing us pictures from his phone. Very strange and it felt like we were just rushed through everything. We decided that we would like to have a nice meal with a nice server who we would happily tip 25-30% for a great experience. Food is not only about the quality, quantity, and price. It is a human experience that deserves kindness and a connection. We left a $20 bill on the table for the bottle of still water we ordered and bailed out.
Great food and service, including a special menu for Mothers' Day. Felt a bit rushed to order quickly and then towards the end were left undisturbed for a long stretch. The $24 beef carpaccio was a definitely overpriced for what it actually featured and how it was presented. It's a nice place overall and we'll probably return.
Truly spectacular. Always creative and new specials as well as terrific standards. One of few spots to serve Vitello Tonnqto and a Cacio e Pepe made right in the wheel of Parmesan. A bit of the Amalfi coast right in Miami!
Restaurantji Recommends
The best Italian restaurant in Miami. It keeps the tradition and ambient in a really nice area of Coconut Grove. You have to try the Cacio e Pepe; a secret plate that is not on the menu.
Nos encantó la comida y el servicio espectacular. El restaurante es pequeño pero muy bonito!!! Muy recomendable !!!
Love this restaurant. Feels like coming home every time I visit Coconut Grove. Excellent wine and the food never disappoints! The service is lovely. Highly recommend!!
Sunday dinner. Excellent special featuring wild boar ragu over short penne. Very good. Service great and wine cold!
This place is amazing. With great food and great service, the restaurant makes you feel at home. One of the best Miami staples. You need to go for some great Italian food.
