What an incredible time! The food was delicious. The atmosphere was chill and honestly, we were so thrilled to have found an amazing restaurant in the neighborhood that was of the quality.
Shokudo is a lovely place, the staff is really humble and sweet. As the old saying goes first impressions are the best impressions and Shokudo has made an impression on our dining experience. Came for dinner and the food was super fresh, great tasting and flavorful. A-MA-ZING!!! Dinner was reasonably priced for what you get! Shokudo has a cozy vibe to it and we will definitely be back!!
We went to the place at 9:15 and when we arrived they told us that it was closed where here it says they close at 10:30. I don't know if they didn't want to serve us or what... but it was handled poorly.

The experience was above average. Some of the food felt a little underwhelming. With that being said, the prices of the rolls are slightly above market price for the quality. Service was fine and adequate. No complaints there.
Service was fine in general, but it was disheartening to have someone take my order without knowing what I was requesting... I asked if they still had Hamachi Kama on the menu - I seem to remember having had it there before, but I hadn't been in the restaurant for a couple of years - only to have the server try to correct me and mention another offering which sound similar. I explained in detail what I was requesting and she looked at me like a deer in the headlights. While it may have been my error to ask for something which was not on the menu, I'd like to think that the staff would be educated enough to have some idea, or at least recognize the Hamachi part and ask the Itamae or the kitchen (since it's a cooked item). Ditto when I asked if they had Otoro or Chutoro, but at least then our server claimed ignorance of what either was, and said she would ask. (They had neither.) Other than that the service was fine, and the food was well done and served in prodigious portions. I was grateful they were able to accommodate a large party (10 guests) on a late Friday night with very little notice, and that they were gracious enough not to shoo us out even after the restaurant was closed.
The food was delicious, so long as you can tolerate spicy. I loved the Tom soup, orange chicken and sushi. One of our guests doesn't like spice and the server struggled with making suggestions. I found everything was very light with spice tbh, only the soup had a really strong kick, but it was so delicious.
This food is overly salty. I'm glad I ordered happy hour instead of going with the full price menu. There's no balance of flavour, only salt. Too bad, I wanted to find my regular sushi spot in my new neighborhood. The service is alright.

The ramen was so salty we couldn’t eat it. We poured hot water over it to try to reduce the saltiness. The service was okay at the start but then our server disappeared and it was difficult to get the check. We never got our water refilled.

My bestfriend and I’s favorite restaurant. We are regulars. I love the food, service and atmosphere. Uros is the most incredible server, and the chefs are great. I highly recommend this place for date nights, solo dinners or girls' night out.

Sushi is always fresh and the food is reasonably priced. A regular spot for us. Ask for Uros, one of the servers. He’s the man.
