I’m 70 and I hold to the notion that any restaurant older than me has got to be good, and Shorty’s has been in business since 1951. You do the math.

I had the Brisket/BBQ Chicken dinner and Mrs. K. had the Pulled Pork dinner, both absolutely delicious, reasonably priced, washed down with icy mugs of beer, and served by our waitress Cookie with skill, charm, and true Southern Hospitality.

My wife and I recently visited Shorty's BBQ and used a coupon that saved us about $7 or $8, which was a great start to our meal.

I ordered the Pork Steak with Coleslaw and Fries, while my wife had the Spare Ribs with the same sides. We both got a side of Garlic Bread, which was also very good—my wife especially liked it. The pork steak was tasty, and the coleslaw was awesome—definitely a highlight of the meal. I'm not a big fan of fries, but I...

Restaurant was good. No wait to sit and the place was very busy. Order took a minute but the food came quick. I tried the Brisket and it was pretty good. One large tough piece but the others were much better. Cole slaw was decent and a really creamy style. French fries nothing to right home about.
