Shorty's BBQ - Dadeland-South Dixie

I’ve been coming to this place since 1979. When we moved to Miami, it never fails to satisfy when one has an urge for a barbecue sandwich, corn, and french fries.

I visited the Dadeland location..reminded me exactly of eating there in '83..brought cooler..loaded in $100 or 200..put in freezer at house here in sebring,fl..I have to tell everybody...the sauce🤠...most flavors blend I ever dreamed of..flavor sensation blend..uhh..no faking..imagine tongue absorbing and sensing different flavors and the zing comes out yor ears and eyes...the whole time I am thinking..it's just a dream..so complex..no way I could ever duplicate this sauce..not in any store either..although there are some bq places around u.s...with secret recipes ..this was totally there

Do not buy food to go. They gave me a dry chicken and the worst ribs I have ever eaten in my life. This is not the Shorty's food I used to eat.

The service, prices, drinks and food was amazing. That food was sooooooo good. Those burnt endz was whew, some kind of good. I truly enjoyed that spot.

Applause for the waiting staff, employees making mouth watering food and the atmosphere for staying authentic (just like i remember it growing up). Their bbq sauce is amazing and such a staple to old Miami traditions. Delicious 😎🍖

Do not order the burnt ends. They are nothing more than scraps from trimming their brisket. Mine were more than 50 percent pure fat and grissel.

If you're looking for babyback ribs with meat that falls off the bone, this is not the place. While the corn bread was not served hot, it was still good.

I always enjoy stopping in for a weekday lunch at Shorty's. You can sit right away and the service is usually pretty quick. A laid-back atmosphere with some friendly waitresses.

Shorty's is nostalgic for me, so it's always good! Growing up, we had many Saturday lunches at grandma and grandpa's house where Shorty's was served.

They have a nice selection, but my favorite is the brisket. The cole slaw is unreal! You have to give it a try. The crinkle cut fries are yummy also. And don't forget to try the Shorty's sauce!
