Overall a good local bakery spot. Love that they have CBS sports constantly on the TV. People are friendly.
If you prefer Spanglish or really just aren’t that good of a Spanish speaker, however, then good luck ordering. I speak Spanish but not too well. I’ve ordered a few times and they’ve gotten the order incorrect and it becomes this whole thing. Super annoying way to start the day. They also have the TV on silent, which is totally normal. I’ve asked for subtitles multiple times because ideally I can sit at the counter top and order coffee, pastries, etc. while watching the daily sports news. Every time I ask it’s an immediate “no” to putting subtitles on the screen. Unsure why they wouldn’t want to accommodate something like this but I don’t appreciate how quick they are to turn it down.
Overall this is a good bakery with good people. The storefront has been there for a very long time.

The chicharrón was $15.99 per pound, ridiculously overpriced for what I got. The skin wasn’t crispy at all, and it was mostly fat with barely any meat. Definitely not worth the money.

The food and service are great yet the heat inside the bakery makes it very uncomfortable. I feel bad for the ladies working there especially during the summer months.

Breakfast was as good as it gets, I ordered eggs over medium, well done bacon, wheat toast and a cafe con leche. I liked everything so much I went back and ordered another big glass of milk and a pastelito which was as good as any i've had in Miami. I consider pastelitos (guava & cheese) from Sergios to be the gold standard. Theirs were easily as good. Reaaonably priced too. Brrakfast was 10 bucks, pastelito and a big glass of milk was $5.
So why 2 stars? They served me my food on styrafoam plates. In addition to the dangers of plastics as it is, the plate melted a little from the bacon. So I had to discard part of the bacon which is stupid and wasteful. Styrafoam in restaurants/bakeries should be illegal! Shame on you folks for poisoning your customers.
Great breakfast, good prices
Best Boliche on Wednesdays! Flavorful, juicy and very tender! They have daily ready to go meals and also do catering! Delicious homemade food for your family friends and Clients!
They close at 6pm but from 5:30pm they stop answering the phone. And they all always have a bitter face. On top of that, the prepared snacks taste and oil if they have been there for more than a week 🤮

This is my family's go-to neighborhood bakery - tasty food and the best service (the cafesito lady even goes above and beyond the usual request for how much milk/how sweet you'd like your coffee and asks for your temperature preference + tests it to be sure. This place is full service with fantastic employees/ownership.
Today, I ordered a large catering order of 500 mini pastelitos, 500 mini croquetas, and 8 carafes of cafe con leche. Flavor, quality, and service was incredible as always.

I'm going to add to my review, because I forgot that I left the one below two years ago.
I've been getting bakery items from them for over two years. Today I got their prepared lunch special for the first time. And a tamal to try out of curiosity.
I waited while a challenging customer ahead of me asked questions about food and was very let's say "involved" in how her food was served and how much... Not too much, not too little. The server went around her coworker, who was also serving food, with a separate container for portioning and the customer began to insist that she wanted it all together. The server chuckled and patiently responded that she will get there but needs to get around her coworker first. There was more back and forth with the customer describing what she would like.
Behind me there was another customer who said something about how all the food was touching and she asked for it to be served separately, because the person it was being served to wouldn't eat food if it was touching. The staff didn't even flinch. One lady who might have done the serving in this case let out a quick sigh and a deadpan look.
They are always patient with me when i am there, and they put up with these challenging customers today no problem. So I just wanna say as far as service goes, anyone can have a bad day sometimes but I have only ever seen them be patient and cordial if not straight up kind!
As for the food and prices... This completa is an outstanding value. The ropa vieja, congri, and yuca were great and the tamal is pretty good.
Some complaints about prices in the reviews, it's like people have been in a coma since the 90s. Look guys, there used to be tons of independent bakeries and cafeterias around, and now a few chains dominate. Between the chains and inflation, the quality of food available has gone down and prices have gone up.
It is increasingly difficult to find good Cuban food in Miami... A sentence I never thought I would write. I just got a ton of food priced at less than $11, in 2024, when places that used to be reliable charge twice as much for way worse food. My expectations, which are to find humble home cooking staples at decent prices for a lunch stop, are more than met here.

A cozy place, small business with a variety of offers. Special cakes remind me a lot of the taste of my childhood in Cuba, especially the guava and meat cakes. Texture and crunchiness in their dough is unbeatable. Very professional treatment from their employees.
Parking: It may be that during lunch and dinner hours there is a bit of congestion in the parking lot due to the nearby Shin Ju Japanese buffet business, but in general there is space to park.
Recommended dishes: Pasteles, Pastelitos de Guayaba, Pastelitos
The Ropa Vieja is delicious! I toss it together with their white rice and I can't recommend it enough.
