Sushi by Scratch Restaurants: Miami

Overall, the food was fresh and tasted great. Upon arriving, I let the hostess writing down preferences know that I don’t want any wasabi. Instead of just obliging, she tried to convince me to have it and condescendingly asked me if I’ve ever had fresh wasabi (I have and don’t like it). That was fine, but then three difference times during the omakase the chefs forgot to prepare mine without wasabi. They had to physically remove it off. It was annoying have to always watch them to make sure they didn’t forget again and at one point, the chef tried to tell me the wasabi sauce they placed “didn’t taste like wasabi” so I should just eat it. Overall very unprofessional and made me feel extremely uncomfortable for my personal food preferences.

We had an excellent experience at Sushi by Scratch! The quality of fish was premium and we enjoyed the sake pairings immensely curated by the sommelier. 17 courses of deliciousness with a variety of flavors. We left with full tummies and a smile on our faces.
We loved the darker, intimate vibe, and music. We really felt as if we were dining in secret! The experience is what you make of it, so I’d recommend interacting with the other diners and the lovely chefs and sommelier. We learned interesting facts about their crafts simply by asking the team who seemed happy to share. The welcome hostess was also incredibly inviting.
It’s an experience and I would recommend it to my friends! I will say, I know not everyone may be willing to pay the price (with the add ons, it racks up). But if you’re in a position to do so, go for it! It’s a delicious meal and a wonderful experience.

If you’re looking for the best Omakase experience, Sushi by Scratch is an absolute must-visit! Kevin, Carlos, Ana, and Zoey went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable. From start to finish, they were super attentive, ensuring every moment felt personalized and special.

The attention to detail in each dish was incredible, and the flavors were out of this world. But what truly set this experience apart was the warm, homey vibe they created. It felt less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home for an extraordinary meal.

This wasn’t just a dinner—it was an experience, and one I’ll be raving about for a long time. Huge thanks to the team for such an amazing night. I can’t wait to return! thank you again.

If you're a sushi fanatic, then this place is for you! It's a hidden restaurant in Coconut Grove, where you enter through a secret door and arrive at an exclusive room with a capacity of around 12 people.
The fish is incredibly fresh and the ingredients are truly gourmet. They prepare the sushi rolls right in front of you, and I personally chose to have them made without rice, except for a few that the chef recommended. Reservations are necessary before going.
The hostess give you a welcome with sake.
It’s very pricy, but exclusive.

WOW! What an experience from start to finish! Sushi by Scratch is truly AMAZING! The Omakase is expertly crafted and executed by top tier chefs. Each bite is exquisite and unique. To get some sushi you've never could have of imagined, you must visit! The spice that is on Shimi Aji...incredible!

This was my first stop for celebrating my 30th birthday. I’ve been wanting to visit for so long and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. Every bite was complex and each flavor shined through. My favorite bites of the night were the Toro, Albacore, and Shima Aji. I only got a few photos and videos because I truly wanted to be present during all of it. The chefs were great to chat with as I had the entire room to myself 😂 this spot is definitely top three for me in Miami and I’ve visited a ton of places here

The food quality was good, especially compared to the usual bland high- end cuisine in Miami. The staff was friendly, or at least tried to, but I was freezing throughout the meal. I mentioned it early on, also few times during the dinner and they raised the temp to only 71F and to 72F at the end when I was walking out of the dining area sneezing non- stop! My husband forgot his sweater and has a cold today too. The space is designed for 10- 11 people, but with just 4 of us, it felt extremely cold. Unfortunately, I just wanted to leave and warm up outside, so the overall experience wasn´t great.

Chef Carlos's attention was simply spectacular, making us feel at home and elevating the experience to its highest level, good drink recommendations on his part and explaining everything to us with kindness.
