This was probably our favorite restaurant. It is totaly different on the inside than you expect, but the food was great. Deffinately worth the visit.

Bar was dead around 11pm March 6th (pre-corona scare) which very eerie and creepy. Only five other people were visibly sitting at the pool; otherwise it was like a ghost town. I expected Jum and Neesie to be like 27 and the Broken Shaker at the freehand since its portrayed as a trendy/ young-hip-but-still-a- hostel vibe. Wrong. We moved to the outdoor tiki type bar by the pool. Also dead .. It was really nice of them to serve us from the indoor menu at the outside bar (granted we were the only ones there). We ordered the asparagus and the octopus. The octopus was too chewy and we didnt finish it. The asparagus was delicious though. Bar tenders were really nice and friendly. Shout out to the guy from DC! Just was not what I was expecting from a place that [seems] so well regarded.

Avoid touristy restaurants with bad service and GO HERE. It's a small restaurant in the generator and the atmosphere/aesthetic is so cute. Our waiter was absolutely great - nicest in Miami we've had by far. For apps, we got the oysters, charcuterie board, corn fritters, papas bravas, and Brussels. We enjoyed all of them. For our meals we got the truffle cacio e Pepe and the special spicy beef cheek ragu. Both were amazing. They also gave us free "dessert" that was a cinnamon roll they were trying out for breakfast and it was so so delicious. They have a great margarita as well.

I was staying at the Generator Hotel for the weekend and decided to check out Jim and Nessie. It is in the main lobby of the hotel. It was early in the morning so it was packed with guests. The breakfast menu here is reasonably priced with plenty of delicious choices. As it was the closest restaurant, I decided to check it out. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Bagel with an iced coffee. The bagel was toasted very well and had a good amount of salmon and cream cheese on top. Overall, I was pleased with the food. However, the wait staff never gave me my iced coffee. I was sitting down trying to alert the waiter as he was walking back and forth. They seemed to be overwhelmed with the amount of people there and may have just forgot. Coffee is one of the first things I need in the morning so I was slightly upset. I was expecting the waiter to come and check on how my meal was but didn't come until it was time for the check. Overall, the food here is great. The main complaints I had was with the wait staff who seemed to be constantly running around and catching up on everything. The forgotten order of coffee didn't help either. When I tried to show them my 15% discount on Yelp they were unsure of what to do. They present you with the final bill on the tablet with the different choices for how much to tip. Originally, I went ahead and gave a generous tip despite their mistake. Afterwards I was told by someone the tip was already included in the bill. After double checking I saw that they did indeed charge me twice. I don't know if this is the usual custom in Miami but I consider it very unethical. Most other places have a sign up saying that tip is included. If you are rushing through the payment process and do not review every detail you will miss it. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be coming back. There are other choices for breakfast that I can go to.

This is the first time I've ever written a review like this. I usually praise the service in restaurants and I understand the hard work that goes into their jobs but..... as others have stated - is the wait staff (or one particular employee) trying to rob their customers at The Jim and Neesie? When we were done with our meal the server came over with the tablet and presented us with a choice of how much tip to give.... that's fine but the tip is already included in the bill. Why would this be done? Was it intentional? I dine out enough to know that most wait-staff treat you the way they want to be treated and are professional and honest. At The Jim and Neesie the bill was presented to us in a less than benign way and it seemed clear that something was going on as the tip amount was visible to both the server and us ... with nothing being said that the tip was included. Shame on the server and shame on Jim and Neesie for either allowing this to occur or not being aware of the potential theft. The restaurant itself is not as nice as the photos and has the dark and drab feeling of a dive bar... and with food to match or worse. Service (and this before the possible tip scam) was non-existent and this is as much about managerial incompetence or more so than an individual service problem.

First time here and loved the ambiance. The food was delicious however they were out of three things on the menu that I wanted for the table. The Brussels sprouts were so good we had to order a second round. The specialty cocktails were phenomenal. Overall, service was good and everything came out in a timely manner.

We went here based on written reviews we saw online. Food was prepared perfect. Menu was varied and tasty. Enjoyed the salmon and pasta dish. Starters we're perfect also. Unique use of ingredients and flavors that made it one of our favorite meals in Miami. Cocktails are reasonable and delicious. It has a good vibe with funky ambiance. Priced just right.

Really good food and vibe, but slooooow slow service for Sunday brunch. Only two guys running the fort interfacing with customers on a holiday weekend.Had to follow up on something as simple as orange juice after waiting maybe 20 mins. Food took exceptionally long (maybe roughly 40 mins) - yet when we inquired, the food came out seemingly on command.

Everything we tried tasted excellent... the kale mushroom salad, the crispy skin airline chicken and the cauliflower romanesco with the spicy sauce is an innovative vegetarian dish with just the right kick. However, the restaurant is so dark that it is impossible to see anything. We had to use our phones to visualize what was on our plates. I am all for setting the ambience with soft lighting but if a restaurant is as dark as a nightclub it just takes away from the dining experience. The countless filament lights dangling from the ceiling are just not cutting it. Also, the water glasses were small 8 ounce glasses that had to be refilled countless times which didn't always happen without prompting. But then again, maybe the wait staff didn't see they were empty because it was too dark...

We went here based on written recommendations found online. Extremely unique and we'll priced cocktails. The menu was varied. One of the tastiest meals in Miami that was filling and priced right. Unique and creative use of flavors and ingredients. Funky ambiance with a good vibe.

Great intimate spot for Valentine's Day dinner. Sat outside in an adorable space, which was of course busy but not overwhelming visually or audibly. Charcuterie board was delicious, as was the Old Fashioned. Both the steak and salmon dinners were well cooked, plated, and tasty all while being a proper portion. We arrived 30min early and were given the option of waiting at the bar or sitting outside, which we appreciated as it respected both our time and experience. Unfortunately I am terrible with names so I cannot recall the server's name, however he also goes by John Legend so if you work there or visit you'll know. He was spot on and made sure the night was something special. We'll most certainly be back.
