What a great find!
I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. We sat at the bar. The bartender, Stefani, was amazing! So professional, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive… you couldn’t ask for a better wait person!
The ambiance is great. They were playing popular songs from the 80’s, but all sung in Cantonese!
Stefani recommended their frozen drinks. They were delicious!!! We especially enjoyed the passion fruit and gin one. I also had nice Sauvignon blanc.
We were given some yummy fried wonton chips to snack on while waited for our dinner. We ordered the crab Rangoon as an appetizer. It comes with 4 large Rangoon. They were delicious. The biggest Rangoon I’ve ever had.
For dinner I ordered the Hennessy Orange Chicken, since I saw it so highly recommended in reviews. It did not disappoint! The chicken was cooked to perfection! Not too much breading, as a lot of places do to their fried chicken. And the flavors were wonderful.
My niece ordered the spicy Szechuan beef noodles. It definitely has a kick to it. The beef was super tender! The sauce was really tasty. We really enjoyed everything!
Afterwards we tried the rice pudding. I’m not usually a fan of rice pudding, but this was SO yummy! It had a crispy sesame seed and rice crisps on top. SO GOOD!
The portions are pretty big, so we had lots of leftovers. Prices are also very reasonable.
Even the restrooms are cool! They have Chinese vinyl records on the walls and in one of them there’s a small TV playing Chinese movies.
I will definitely be back soon with my family and friends!

Great service, insipid food. My friends and I were very excited to try this place because we’ve been hearing about it for months. It’s a very stylish room with great hospitality and service, but unfortunately the food is really not good. We had a mix of about 10 appetizers and main dishes amongst us and not a single one was a stand out. They were almost uniformly, oily and dull. Even the Bronzino with Ginger and peppers was somehow still dull.
All of us have had the good fortune to enjoy lots of great Chinese food in our lives and we all agreed that this was a disappointment. Bummer because there really isn’t a lot of Chinese food In Miami. I’ll be going back to Tanka, which serves up vibrant and flavorful Chinese food.

I came to Double Luck because of the hype and tried several of their most popular dishes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed. The food was greasy and quite bland, lacking depth of flavor.
Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual, but overall the experience didn’t live up to expectations. Not sure I would return.

One of the best experiences i've had eating at a restaurant in miami. It genuinely felt like they wanted us there and we're incredibly patient, animated, professional and at the same time very casual while delivering a high class and quality meal. Highly recommend you try the Duck and the fried rice.

Really enjoyed a long-awaited dinner after hearing great things; Double Luck did not disappoint. From the menu options, portion sizes, attentive staff and decor; this place is a must-go! Everything we tried was amazing, highly recommend ordering a few of everything and sharing to really get the full experience.

Made res for 5:30 on a Saturday for 2. Parking in rear. Itnis such a cool atmosphere! All blank walls and ceiling, red paper lanterns. Small and cozy with a cool feel. Varid menu with options but not too many. The music is a mix of 80s in english and foreign (we were guessing what the song is). Great service - very attentive.

Good atmosphere but didn't find the food that exciting.
The Nouveau-Chinese decor was artsy and entertaining. Nice touch in the bathroom with old Chinese movie video playing, Chinese newspapers and Chinese albums on wall. The dark atmosphere creates a sense of intimacy and enhances flambe dish presentation. The welcome host didn't seem to be a happy person and gave off a Soup Nazi vibe. The bartender was quite the opposite. He was cheerful and happy to explain everything he knew about the restaurant.
On the food side, portions served seemed designed for two-person sharing, unless very hungry. I ordered the Cloud Ear Mushroom appetizer with the much reviewed Hennessy Orange Chicken for a main. The Mushroom appetizer had a zesty and light spice taste but without something to accompany the thinly sliced mushrooms, flavor becomes one-dimensional and monotonous after a few bites. The single taste needs to be balanced by a complementary or contrasting flavor.
The Hennessy Chicken is served flambe and good for a photo op. The Chicken batter/breading has a perfect, crispy texture with the chicken meat being tender and juicy. The sauce texture was light and mixed well with the battered chicken, Sauce flavor was slightly sweet but they missed any flavor notes of orange or Hennessey.
Overall, Double Luck is an interesting place to visit - once, as I didn't see anything extraordinary about the restaurant. I don't see myself recommending the plates I had as anything unique or innovative. The atmosphere and decor was mentionable and the food was fine, but forgettable.

Really cool concept that blends traditional Chinese flavors with a modern approach and premium ingredients. We loved everything from the atmosphere to the elevated takes on classic dishes. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The crab rangoons were to die for, and the duck buns were outstanding. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.

We kept seeing double luck featured in Miami food blogs/socials, and when I saw its from the same people behind TamTam I had to try it— definitely the best Chinese food I’ve had down here in Miami. Heavy, as most Chinese food is, but if you’re in the mood for it, it’s excellent. I love that, even though all the food is heavy, it feels like it’s much better quality than any other Chinese restaurant you will try. The orange chicken is bell & Evans, breast meat only. The other meats are also from pretty decent farms. Overall i can’t see myself going here frequently simply because the food is quite heavy and it’s not soemthing I’d get unless I were craving it but this for sure is my favorite Chinese spot in Miami if anyone were to ask me. Food ratings —
Appetizer ribs: better than most places. He rates them a 7.5/10
Duck was 8.5/10
Chicken was 9/10
The fish for me was 7/10, not as good as tam tam but still good. (Not that they’re the same style of cuisine but the size and vibe is similar). Quite spicy
We also got the veggie fried rice bc we had to at a Chinese restaurant and it was unique bc it was very gingery but I prob wouldn’t get it again unless I was craving fried rice
5 star service— super attentive. It is not a super Luxe place, like you can dress up, but you could also go in a T-shirt and sweatpants… Which I love about a place, I don’t like how pretentious a lot of restaurants here in Miami have become
We spent close to $150 per person without alcohol, but that’s literally because we got enough food for six people even though we were only two. We just wanted to try it all ha ha. You could easily split just the duck or just the fish and an appetizer or side and be satiated here.

When we ordered 3 things for the table of 2 people, the waitress told us to order more because it wouldn’t be enough food. She told us after we place our order, we wouldn’t be able to add any entrees to the order - only appetizers. So we were pressured into ordering more food. We ordered the duck buns. It ended up being way too much food and we couldn’t finish. We ate one piece of duck and took the rest home. They packed it for us and when I got home and looked, there was no duck. Basically ordered the most expensive thing on menu due to pressure from the waitress and then she didn’t pack it for us for god knows what reason.

Very unpretentious cool spot! Super friendly staff, great food and portions are very generous. I’m definitely coming back! Two dishes I tried that I loved were the cold mushrooms and the sweet and sour short ribs.
