W XYZ is one of my new favorite places! The bartenders are more like personal sommeliers--they want you to get the wine that works best for your palate, but also allow you to feel free to explore. And you know what, the nice vibe they give off at the bar spreads--this is the only place I have ever been to on FL where someone bought me a glass of wine for giving up my seat. A wine bar is a good place to pay it forward :)
I like this place and am glad they opened where they did. For me, the major issue is the fact that it is extremely noisy -- due to the acoustics -- I was there on a recent weekend night and it wasn't that crowded but the cacophony from conversation was deafening. I couldn't even tell if they were playing music or not. It is not that hard to do something about it and it would make a big difference. Also, I love the little outdoor area in the front, but the decor inside...
Bonus: There's a DJ that played 80/90's pop and hip-hop genre music that night and I'd say it was pretty entertaining with a small gathering of people dancing around the DJ booth. I didn't expect that, but hey, maybe it's called W XYZ for a reason.I'd come back, next time though, for happy hour.
