I’m very disappointed to say the least. I hate doing bad reviews on black owned restaurants. But this one hurt. I’m always worried when black owned restaurants expand because one normally gets the short end of the stick. I ordered gumbo I’ll upload the photo it was just grease and rice, I ordered red beans and rice. It wasn’t edible neither was the gumbo. I also ordered fish dinner with macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was basically rubber and shuckin use to have the best macaroni hands down. I don’t eat everyone greens. Today was the exact example why. I use to eat here all the time because of how consistent the food was. I Haven’t been since the new location open. My food was not edible at all. Remind me I got all this food for me myself and I. Let’s say this was a big back energy fail.

The service us horrible. The young lady who answers phone and the guy that cooks are rude! Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. He forgot mac n cheese on my plate and instead of saying come he said "He 35 and dont make mistakes" The yams come from a can. DO NOT GO THERE SERVICE SUCKS!!

One of my favorite spots in south FloridaThe jivin shrimp is always a hit. Shrimp and grits. Or fried fish. It's all delicious. They are one of the FEW spots that genuinely has great mac and cheese. Many spots, especially black-owned spots, boast mac and cheese that isn't it. But shuckin always hits. Only downside is they can be very slow on service but because the food is so good it's worth the wait. Also their Pembroke Pines location has a huge connect 4 game so that's pretty cool.

I have had food from here before and it was A1 I dont know what happened but it was not it for me this time. The fried ribs were too salty and they were tough to chew my teeth was like yeah throw that away and the conch fritters were too doughy like.

I have ordered here in the past and I love love the food. The building is small so there is no seating inside. Only to go orders. I ate here during pandemic as well as for thanksgiving job pot luck. For the pot luck I ordered the Mac n cheese. We was going to have about 10-12 people. So I ordered 2 pans in order for people to have double servings and take some home for leftovers. I'm so glad I ordered two pans. Everyone finished the first pan and half the second pan. I would order again. The pans was $65 for both total. I even called it in last minute two days before and they was able to accommodate. I picked the pans up at 7pm an it was fresh out the oven. I suggest taking a box or bringing a towel for car when you pick up.

This is the type of meal that is going to put you to sleep. And I didn't even eat it all. My bf and I shared it (him eating majority). For only $16 it was a very satisfying meal. I like my wings to have that little crunch like it was battered and seasoned with love before being coated with their the sweet chili-esque sauce they consider their signature. All the sides were solid - Not saying it was a grand slam but I mean come on everyone has their own opinion of how their perfect collards and Mac should be made. This is definitely one of the better places for takeout that actually know what they're doing. I recommend!

Didn't know this place has been there as long as it have....the food was very good except for the collard greens....I was a bit disappointed with it....it didn't and it was a bit crunchy and the smell of vinegar was heavy in it.....other then that I already have returned I just won't order the collard greens.

10/10 I love it here. KY is an amazing employee and made my whole experience in Miami as I'm from California. Unfortunately we came too late to try the gumbo but we'll be here early tomorrow morning. To try their gumbo and see Ky again

The wings and fried shrimp with their signature sauce was great. The only thing I would take a star off for is they almost left out one of my orders. The passion fruit juice was absolutely delicious so I'll give them back a star for that! Overall the vibe is different. Takes you down history/memory lane as you wait in the front. Next door to the barbershop in the plaza.
