This is a hit and miss kind of place. I would say "hit or miss" except it's likely that you'll have a combination of pleasantly surprised satisfaction as well as mild disappointment. I had the frog legs, which I though were really good. I also ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizers, which were also pretty darn tasty. But the collared greens were not that great until I dug deeper into the pile. The inner greens were tasty while the outer ones were dry and so-so at best. My coworker didn't have as good of luck. He ate most of the food because he was hungry, but he said he didn't like it. He ordered a combination of different seafoods off the senior menu. I would probably go back to try the gator if I was still in town. But honestly, I'd rather find a place that wasn't so hit or miss on whether what you order will be good or not.

Business lunch. Usually get Shrimp Alfredo. Generous portion for lunch about $12 get shrimp broiled. Enough for lunch 2nd day. Good service. Not fancy but clean.

Really good seafood. Waitress was excellent and joined in with us as we said the blessing. Food was ample and delicious. Can't wait till we go back, will eat there again

Just picked up my to go order. So delicious the food has been amazing! The portions are great. Not sure if anything has changed but the food quality and portion sizes are definitely better. Thank You Cedar River,

Unfortunately the meal we had needed flavor. Everything was cooked well and it looked fine but there was no flavor in the food. Service was very slow due to a staff shortage and a party. We will not be returning.

We got there about 3:30 and the lunch ends at 4. The only complaint I have about the food is that the fried okra was cold. Got alot of food for our money, there was only 3 families in there, not crowded, clean, and most importantly when asking the waitress questions about the menu she actually had the answers!!

My husband and I ordered take out tonight ( a Saturday ) and we were blown away with how good it was. He got the trio platter with clam strips, flounder and deviled crab. I got the fried shrimp dinner. My meal had over 20 shrimp in it. We tore it up and will be back! They were nice too. I ordered right at close unknowingly and still got great service.

Order takeout Saturday night. Of course there were missing items. The manager told me I should have checked my to-go boxes before I left the building.so the missing items are no longer their problem cuz they have signs posted. Whatever happened to Good help? paid $18 for a flounder fish dinner with four pieces of fish.A bit expensive a lit

Not cheap but I'll gladly pay for food and drinks that were great. Quick and friendly service. Clean restroom. My wife is a vegetarian and there's a veggie plate she loves. The oyster po boy was very good

Had the senior flounder dinner. The fish was okay but the mashed sweet potatoes was soupy, the baby lima beans had no season and the hush puppies didn't tasted done.

Wow. That’s all I can say. I don’t even know how many stars to leave this place because I have such mixed feelings about my experience the other evening. This may get lengthy. My husband and I came here to eat earlier this week and it was later in the evening, close to closing time I would assume. The girl that sat us was wearing a leopard headband and was very accommodating. My husband is recovering from open heart surgery so we asked to be sat away from people if possible, because I want him to stay as healthy as possible. The girl said she used to be a nurse so she understood the importance of my request and she even checked back in with us throughout the meal. Held the door open for us on our way out. I really wish I remembered her name. It was something short, I do know that much. Our server was precious. She had very dark hair and was just absolutely stunning, inside and out. I want to say her name was Samantha? I may be wrong though. But she was great, tended our needs, and just made us feel welcome, even though we were on the opposite side of the restaurant from all the other patrons. All of this to say, I don’t know that my husband and I will be back. Our wonderful experience was shattered when another waitress, who is also apparently a manager, got into a screaming match with her table over a dessert. I do not know the specifics of why or what happened, but I do not think she acted in a professional manner at all, and she even brought out a whole pie just to show the table that she was right and they were wrong. I suggested to my waitress that if the woman was just having a bad night she needed to be sent home. That was when I was informed that this woman, named Theresa, is actually a MANAGER! I was shocked. I had such a great experience with the 2 non management people that I couldn’t believe what I was seeing by a manager.I know that new ownership has taken over and so far I’ve had only compliments for the place, but they really need to reconsider their management. If we decide to come back, it will be a while. I can only hope I will see the 2 girls who saved the experience for us, and hopefully there will be more like them.

Our Grand Daughter loved the chicken alfredo noodles. We were not sure how well this dish would taste at a seafood rest., but they were good. My flounder and the shrimp were as good as usual. Cedar River Rests. always have great lima beans. Thanks.

Had the best waitress after going for years! Danielle was our server and made sure we were taken care of! It’s refreshing having a server that pays attention when we love the food but hate the service.

Called a few days ago for a pick up order and was having trouble with service at our new home (just moved to Middleburg from Orange Park). Was anxious to try this place out... a woman named Danni got extremely rude with us and told us "if you can't get your phone to work don't call back". ? Well, got our phone to work a few minutes later and she answered the phone and says "were closed"... they weren't. We were not at any point rude to this woman, so her rudeness was completely uncalled for. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this place EVER... which is sad.

Used to be my favorite. Went yesterday with my wife two daughters and granddaughter. Food was not as good as it use to be. My wife's baked potato was so cold the butter wouldn't even melt. Most all other food was warm at best. Portions were about half what they they use to be. Service was not to be bragged on. Not sure if we will go back
