El Fogon was really enjoyable. Better than most Peruvian restaurants in the area for certain. Absolutely the best Pisco Sour I have ever tasted, no lie, and i could've eaten a ton of the concha that was put out on the table. For anyone that has never had concha, it's basically dry roasted large kernel corn, and it's freaking amazing. As far as entrees, we stuck with traditional dishes and ordered Jalea and Lomo Saltado. Both meals were prepared perfectly. Fresh, crispy seafood, tender beef cooked to medium, served with delicious sauces.Enjoyable. Will return for sure as it is close to home.Only thing missing was Pulpo tiradito...

The worst Peruvian food place I have ever eaten in the world, I ordered a daily lunch that included 2 parts: a Causa de Tuna (canned prickly pear, processed) and a yellow chili, because when they served me the "Causa" I thought it was a joke, gentlemen, the dream of any ant....the portion was less than the content of a soup spoon, on top of it a portion of 1/2" inch by 3/8" inch of canned prickly pear...,the half of a languid Botija olive and a tiny, apparently tiny piece of red pepper... it is disrespectful to call what they put in my sight a cause, then the main course was an attempt at yellow chili, that looked and tasted like the cheese macaroni that one sees in prison movies, decorating a tiny portion of egg, egg that I don't think is from a normal chicken or is it from a dwarf chicken or a quail, my goodness, what an experience on top of $20 dollars, all that joke and craftsmanship What a lack of respect for the cuisine of excellence that Peru has earned.

I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars because of the price. It has gotten ridiculous!!I've been coming here for many years, even before the remodeling and the new menu etc. But I had dinner last night with my daughter and I'm not sure if I'll be back after paying $50 for what you see in the picture. The appetizer (Causa de pollo $13.75), Tallarín verde con churrasco ($24.75) and as seen in the picture, its very thin and small and a soda and a passion fruit juice + $9 tip = $59. INSANEThe food is good and tasty but Peruvian food is my favorite kind of food and I've tried MANY different restaurants that have also been good for a much cheaper price. In other places, the Causa de Pollo is $10 and the pasta with steak is $21 max. Really disappointed ?
