Here's the thing, when u were brought up in the Haitian culture and you are Bahamian just know our tastebuds and palettes are defined. The griot is good ? my husband enjoys it. Now, the conch fritter which is a Bahamian dish and a Bahamian staple - this was a no for me! Now, their soup joumou - the minute I opened the container I already knew it would be an epic fail. The color, the look and the taste, yeah no. My mother who's Bahamian makes this dish because it's a Haitian staple dish that is served on the first day of the new year. I'll link a picture of my mom's pot just to show the difference.

First time for my wife and I. Son recommended. AMAZING. The lamb, rice, salad, patties, even my sour sop juice. Hands down best Haitian restaurant and quality home cooked authentic food I've had in over 7 states and 4 countries (Ret. AD). Definitely going to be a mainstay when staying in Miami. Friendly, professional and courteous staff and owner. They truly aim to make your visit an enlightening experience through fresh, well seasoned, authentic cuisines that literally had me wondering how can it possibly be this good. Thank you for the great food, conversation and overall experience.Vegetarian options: Lots of yummy vegetarian options for all.Kid-friendliness: This is a family oriented restaurant.

I've ordered from them over 100 times. Today is definitely my last. Employees don't pay attention to the simplest things. Like how do you mess up on an order that has 2 of the same meals. Ordered thru uber and only got one meal and then have the audacity to tell me to come get the second meal from the restaurant. That's why I did it with uber so I won't have to come. Then I get hung up on. If they Check how many times I've ordered from them they'll be amazed. never again! Messy!

The owner and staff are the most friendliest people you would ever want to meet.. The atmosphere is inviting. The food is amazing, and flavorful. Not to mention the big portions you receive. I would definitely recommend going there to eat. Can't wait to go back, again and again. Thanks. Aka Reese !!

Went there today to order a side of peas & rice and plantains, received my sides then i started eating the rice and as I get closer to the bottom of the plate, there is a dead fly in my rice. I instantly pulled over to the side of the road throw up the rice & peas, then took pictures, but not only that. I went back to the restaurant and told the guy and showed him, and his words to me was “oh we don’t cook with flies and what do you want another side of rice.” I responded and said no a refund. I was then refunded, but what bothered me was, he wasn’t apologetic about the situation and he didn’t offer to accommodate. I will never ever eat at this place again. I do not recommend this place. But if you decide to go and try it please check your food prior before leaving.

I placed an online order for a GRIOT combo with rice and beans. What i received was a pile of bones, a couple tiny pieces of griot, mainly fat, all buried under two pieces of OLD fried CHICKEN. Not only did i not order chicken but the chicken smelled so FOUL i lost my appetite right then and there. Highly disappointed with this resturant, seems like you can only place orders face to face. PLEASE CHECK YOUR PLATE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS RESTURANT IF YOU ARE PICKING UP.

Restaurant is very clean very nice atmosphere. Small bar area and table service. . AC must be broken inside warm with ceiling fans on. I bought lemon cake j*** chicken and griot dinners. Both meats were dry hard and dark inside $28. Meaning it was reheated multiple times. Rice and peas was mushy and not seasoned well. I went the.midfle of the week. Perhaps it was a bad day. The lemon pound cake was moist and flavorful. Very good. Area is clean safe hopefully they can do better.

My husband and are on a mini vacation from NJ and decided to stay in Florida City before heading to Key West. My husband who is Haitian wanted to eat some good Haitian Food. Being that we have travel throughout Florida on numerous occasions and have tried several Haitian Restaurants that was decent, however after watching a Facebook live review from The Hungry Black Man at Sak Pase Restaurant here in South Florida we decided to try the food as well and I must say THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS ON POINT! The restaurant was clean with a friendly atmosphere and the owner came and greeted us that was a plus. I told him even though I'm American I enjoyed listening to the sound of the Caribbean Music as we dine. My husband and I order so much food. We had djon djon rice, fried red snapper, curry chicken, lalo, and legume the food was seasoned well. OMG everything was delicious and the portions was a nice size and we topped it off with freshly squeezed chilled Jisitron (limeade). This beverages is soooooooooo delicious. Also the cost of everything was inexpensive. The next time I am in South Florida Sak Pase Restaurant will be my to go place.
