2 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ I give it two stars for these reasons; one for it being a kava bar and the others for it being in Key West. The building is unique and decorations cute, it's a good place for new comers to the Kava Community, to be seduced by extracts and the lowest grade kava in the industry. "Tudei" Kava! They over charge and underserve their kava. Even tho it lists a variety of kava (premium, Vanuatu, etc) they primarily serve the lowest grade Solomon at Premium rates.. I'm from St Pete FL and have been in Key West since 2018. There was zero kava bars. I was excited for this place to open 3 years before they got their permits. Since my first visit to my last , I have waisted tons of my money, just to be disappointed, hell I even worked there 6 months to build a nighttime vibe and encourage locals (I fought for a straight year to get a "locals discount" made available (when they did they raised their prices and increased the suggested gratuities in TOAST POS to be 30% and higher) also damaged my gut health (sometimes the roots in the kava still or they spoon off the top and it's all water no kava). Those of us in the real "Kava Culture " promote Noble Kava and served in traditional ways, avoiding Extracts, instant , and or micronized kava. The root has to be strained out and these other methods are just not good. Phrases like "Drink Love", "Better than Booze" , "Respect the Root" have been reduced to just marketing slogans and cheap gimmicks here. Find out for yourself! Bula Bula PS "Bula is a fajian word used in many kava ceremonies as Bula- Bula , as a toast meaning "to long life and good health " . Traditional serving sizes are called "shells" as they use coconut shells, at 4oz per single serving ( 8oz for a DBL , 12 oz triple, and 16oz Quads) here they subvert the word Bula to mean a Bowl , you put anything in to toast, and unless you get a Togo cup, it's hard to spot the amount served. *pay attention* Every DoorDash order is messed up. My last one was supposed to be 32 oz I even text first. When they failed , they blamed me for using DoorDash , said it was an optical illusion based on cup sizes, then banned me from coming in.. Make your own decision, & trust your Guts!

Think I might spend my whole vacation here. It’s the most relaxing place and everyone here is super friendly. Most people here seem like locals and they know each other.

We are visiting Key West and I have been to several kava bars in New Mexico, but this is by far the best kava bar I have ever been to. The staff is so professional and kind. The drinks are delicious! I highly recommend this wonderful spot.

We had drinks last night in Kava's karaoke bar and the backyard (dancing bar). Kava is split into 4 or 5 large bar/restaurant areas each with a different theme.

Today we spent most of the day at the state park and decided to eat and cool off in their Duval street facing restaurant.

Our server Christine was so pleasant and patient with us and kept our waters full when we saw other servers kinda short (but not rude) with their tables.

We started with an order of the portobello won tons ($12). There were 5 of them, medium-sized with a delicious dark sesame ginger sauce and some ribboned carrots. SO GOOD!

We ordered the Island Roots dish ($15) and the BBQ jackfruit with veggies($17). Both had generous portions and were served over rice. My wife liked the BBQ better, I thought the Island Roots knocked my socks off!!

Absolutely a wonderful experience! Great food, relaxed atmosphere and superb service! Including the ginger beer($4) we were stuffed and out the door for $53.30 ($1.50 credit card fee) before tip.

Highly, HIGHLY recommend you visit Kava for the food and if you like karaoke or line dancing (both are in the back rooms).

Was more than satisfied after my fiancée and I walked through the door the first time after saying we should go there sometime for about 3 1/2 years!! Randomly walked in to check the place out that our friends have been to multiple times and always said great things about the vibe, staff, the service and of course the drinks!! We didn’t have a clue what to try first so we just winged it with thorough explanations about everything they had to offer. We ended up getting two different drinks each and both were way better than what we expected. Best part was we went on a Friday evening not knowing it was there weekly open mic night!! Also very much impressed by the performances that they were done!! Definitely recommend going to Kava Key West to everyone who loves to chill out in an amazing zen environment!! We’ve been there 4 times all together but need to get back and maybe chat with some of the people who hang there!! Everyone is so friendly and the 3 different bartenders we have met were all top notch and super helpful with explaining the different types of drinks!! Suggest starting a reward program because why not earn something while enjoying it!!

This place is awesome. So laid back and chill. The kava on tap is really good. Grab a glass, kick back on a couch, and unwind. We ended every night here during our vacation to Key West!

Neat little spot tucked away in Old Town—definitely worth checking out if you’re into kava and botanical teas. I frequent the Kava bars near me, so I had to stop by while in Key West. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, just like the others. It is a bit pricey (Key West, after all)—I paid nearly $50 for two teas—but the quality and atmosphere made it worth the experience. Great place to unwind and people-watch.

A great relaxed atmosphere. As a first-time visitor, I was welcomed and wanted to stay longer, but had others waiting for me down the road. I really wanted to stay.

5 Stars – Kindness Lives Here!

Kava Culture in Key West is more than just a kava bar – it’s a place filled with genuinely good humans. After a stressful evening of losing my wallet while walking home, I was beyond relieved when the amazing team here found it and kept it safe for me until I could return. When we walked in the next day, I was greeted with warm smiles, positive energy, and a welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel better.

We sat at the bar and the staff took the time to patiently explain the kava experience and the different beverages they offer. It’s clear they care about what they do and the people who walk through their doors. The vibe is cool, chill, and inviting – exactly the kind of place you want to unwind and feel at home.

I HIGHLY recommend this business. Choose kindness always – they do, and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Kava Culture!
