5 Stars – Kindness Lives Here! Kava Culture in Key West is more than just a kava bar – it’s a place filled with genuinely good humans. After a stressful evening of losing my wallet while walking home, I was beyond relieved when the amazing team here found it and kept it safe for me until I could return. When we walked in the next day, I was greeted with warm smiles, positive energy, and a welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel better. We sat at the bar and the staff took the time to patiently explain the kava experience and the different beverages they offer. It’s clear they care about what they do and the people who walk through their doors. The vibe is cool, chill, and inviting – exactly the kind of place you want to unwind and feel at home. I HIGHLY recommend this business. Choose kindness always – they do, and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Kava Culture!
As a kava lounge patron, I strongly recommend. Frequently traveling Florida from North to South, I've been to dozens of lounges from Jacksonville to Key West. These guys are in the top. Nice, open air, windows, and sunlight. Friendly conversation with tenders and guests. Very genuine local Key West Island vibe. Outside the bustle of tourism.
What kava is meant for. Connection.

This is a fabulous place that I love coming to. I'm in here all the time because of the wonderful culture that the team here has built. The reason for my one-star is the recent pricing changes to Happy Hour are quite, frankly, ridiculous. No one can keep track of them, they are listed in internal terms (EX: what is an isolate shot vs. a shot? Anyone?). No bars make Happy Hour this complicated. The result is I'm just not going as much, and unless this changes back, will stop coming altogether and I'm not the only one. I paid nearly $30 for two drinks and tips during early bird Happy Hour. During HAPPY HOUR. That's nuts. Why are the discounted drinks so involved? Keep it simple! Furthermore, Key West is one of the most expensive places to live in the country, yet workers are almost entirely in the service industry. The core base here is service workers struggling to stay on this island, not tourists with disposable income who are ready to drop $60 on a bar tab during Happy Hour. We aren't 9-5 workers. so bring the 2 to 5 Happy Hour back. Not just the hours -- the prices!
If it's not broke, don't fix it and stop trying to nickel and dime and squeeze every cent out. DRINK LOVE corporate, DRINK LOVE. This goes against what you stand for, and in a super authentic community like Key West, it leaves a bad taste in our mouth. It won't work here. Trust me.

Showr friendly staff. Very kind and willing to help you find what you want even if you don't know what that is. Was my first time trying kava so the server had me try raw kava to make sure it was a good fit, before I bought anything. Everyone there was super friendly and non judgemental

Disappointing Changes at Kava Culture
★☆☆☆☆
We discovered Kava Culture less than a block from our house and were thrilled to find a spot where we could enjoy the community, socialize, and meet other locals. It really felt like a place where we fit in and could unwind. The staff is absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and happy.
However, the constant changes to the happy hour by the corporate office have been disappointing. On the side of the building is a plaque stating “One Human Family,” but the inconsistent happy hour times and frequent price increases seem to prioritize profits over community.
The community aspect that drew us here is starting to feel overshadowed by corporate priorities. I hope they reconsider their approach and focus on fostering the loyal, local community that has supported them so much.

My partner and I enjoyed a few kava drinks on Christmas. The bartender was very nice and helpful. Such a fun, chill vibe with many locals who were extremely friendly. We will definitely be returning when we come back to Key West!

Bobby, the bartender, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Even though it was busy, he took the time to explain everything in detail. Definitely recommend!

Our first kava/kratom experience and it was delicious. We received a quick education about the bar and products before going on to sample a few different teas/elixirs. If you go at 6:00 they do a "cheers" drink for $2. Good vibes and people.

This was our second visit. I'm really impressed with the kava culture. We've gotten lots of help picking our orders. We've been treated so well! Kava is now a stop on our Off Duval Crawl. Thank you to the employees and owner.

Over the past few years I've had the pleasure of spending a great deal of time at Kava Culture Key West, and since day 1 have been served by James, one of the most exceptional Kavatender's on staff. From the moment I stepped in nearly 2 years ago, James’ welcoming, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor stood out. His expertise in kava and kratom was evident as he skillfully guided me through the menu over the past few years, offering personalized recommendations based on my preferences and curiosity. What really sets James apart is his genuine interest in ensuring each guest have a memorable experience with each visit. His friendly conversation and insights into the benefits and nuances of kava and kratom make each and every visit not just a beverage stop, but also an educational and entertaining. The atmosphere at Kava Culture is relaxed and inviting, thanks in large part to James’ professionalism and warmth. He represents the best of what Kava Culture has to offer - a place where anyone can feel at home. For anyone visiting Key West, a stop at Kava Culture is a must, and make sure to say hello to James. His passion for kava and kratom, and his dedication to customer service will undoubtedly make your visit as delightful as mine. An easy 5-star experience!
