We went last night for dinner. The fresh seafood was wonderful! I had crab appetizer and fried shrimp basket. My husband had blackened grilled shrimp. Very good service as our server came by several times to check on us. We definitely will return soon!

I ordered Mahi Mahi and got something that tasted like catfish and looked like frozen fish sticks and had a very weird chewy consistency. I was very disappointed to say the least. This was my very first time at Dewey Destin and most likely my last. Your food is relatively high compared to most competitive businesses in the same area. The crab dip looked like pate and had very little taste. On a positive note the view was beautiful and the staff was friendly. Bless their hearts it's not their fault.

Good place to get seafood. Our kids got grilled cheese and a salad. The atmosphere was pretty cool. It’s different than we expected walking in because we had to order up front and then find a place to sit. The food came out quickly though. I recommend eating here once on your vacation to Navarre.

We loved it here!
You order food at the counter then walk into a separate are to pick a seat - they have indoor and outdoor seating as well as seats and the bar - and put your number on the table for the food runner to find you. The line was long, but it moved pretty quickly. We picked a (picnic) table outside by the water, and there was a nice breeze since it was dark. Be prepared and wear sandles or shoes you can easily take off if you want to sit outside, as it’s on the sand.
We ordered the hot crab dip as an app, and we got it while at the counter so we could snack on it while waiting. We then had the peel and eat shrimp, captains platter, and chicken tender basket (obv we have a picky eater!), and all of them were delicious. The food did take quite awhile to come out, but they were also pretty busy on a Saturday night. There were mostly high school kids working, whether at the register, delivering food, or bussing tables, and all of them were friendly and polite. Several of them went out of their way to check on us or start conversations.
The only thing that’s a bit strange is that there is a bar, but you have to order and pay for drinks separate from your food. We were able to start a tab and go back and forth from our table, but it’s a little strange that it’s the same restaurant but you pay separately.

After trying some of the other seafood places in the Emerald Coast area I’d have to say that Dewey Destin’s was a bit of a letdown.
There was a small wait (10 minutes) after entering and you select your food at a counter as opposed to having wait staff attend to you. Drinks are self service and come in plastic cups that may require several trips back and forth for refills. Our food did come out within 15 minutes of ordering but the portions are very small for the price you are charged and it’s mediocre at best. The corn on the cob was very bland and cold even w/ butter applied and there are not any extra condiments other than salt and pepper to flavor it (I prefer seasoned salt like Old Bay myself).
There’s definitely better restaurants in the area to spend your money at.
Would not recommend.

Ease of ordering was good. The lady taking our order recommended the blackened grouper so I went with her recommendation and my husband had the mahi blackened. We also ordered crab cakes.

The crab cakes were good, and the dip that came with it was good.

The grouper and mahi was blackened as we requested so you would expect a lot of flavor... The mahi was overcooked and extremely bland. The grouper was cooked correctly but bland I’m mean adding salt and pepper did not even help... They also provide butter so I slather that on the grouper to help but it was still bland. The potatoes and corn are just boiled, no seasoning at all. It was very disappointed to spend $80.00 with a tip on very unsatisfactory food.

We ordered steamed shrimp and blacked shrimp. It was OK. But not great. The shrimp were not well seasoned and a little overcooked. Stuff was friendly.

The food here is absolutely amazing — I would die for the hushpuppies alone! I ordered the Mate’s Platter with blackened shrimp, scallops, and Mahi, and everything was cooked to perfection. The scallops were buttery and tender, the Mahi was packed with flavor, and the shrimp were just as delicious.

The casual seating gave off a laid-back picnic vibe, and the fact that you can eat right on the beach made the whole experience even better. Great food, great views, and an all-around fantastic time. Can’t wait to come back!

I would have given a 5 on food but I got the captains plater and loved the oysters and shrimp but the 3 pcs of fish strips I got were very tough especially to be a white fish. I didnt care as much for the hot crab dip either it was OK but not a fav for me. My son loved his crab legs and husband had the crab cake he also enjoyed! The staff is super friendly as well. I love the indoor outdoor feel it has and especially bc it was covered with ac the waitress in line to order area is HOT in there. But we really enjoyed it and also to mention we got our food rather fast as well. And they were rather busy too!

We had blackened Mahi mahi basket, fried mahi mahi, catfish and grilled chicken. Appetizers- fried pickles, crab cakes, buffalo shrimp and hot crab dip.

Blackened mahi mahi - 9/10
Fried mahi mahi - would never get again. No flavor, dry and rubbery.
Catfish - 6/10 really fishy with no breading.
Grilled chicken - 9/10
The potatoes and corn have no flavor at all

Fried pickles - really good! 9/10
Buffalo shrimp 10/10 should have just got this as an entree.
Hot crab dip - no flavor, but the chips were good.
Crab cakes - 1/10. Would never get again.

The service was amazing. We returned one of the fried mahi entrees. A waitress was cleaning up the table and solved this for us quickly and new tray came out within 5 minutes. Great service.

Bartender - absolutely loved her. Phenomenal drinks, service and all around experience. She is a sweetheart! So willing to tell us how things work as this was our first time here. Would not be back for food, definitely would for the bartender.
