Went prior to the shutdown,, BEST BREAKFAST in the area! Sad they haven't reopened, even tho the website says open. Came all the way from Orlando wanting Johnny Grits.

Small restaurant in downtown New Port Richey. Wonderful staff. Julia took care of us and was a delight. Had Big Daddy's Biscuits & Gravy with side of bacon and hashbrowns. Biscuits were a little dry and for my world needed more gravy. Nice flavor. We also had Traditional Eggs Benedict. They used regular ham instead of Canadian bacon. Also hollandaise sauce was a bit oily. It was okay but for my preference, I like Canadian bacon and a desire sauce. Will go back and try other items.

Sadly; the food and atmosphere are very good, problem is you have to enjoy the atmosphere for an hour and a half to get your food. We've tried going there numerous times and rarely get good service; orders are lost, severs ignore our table (we tip around 25% btw) so we've pretty much given up. We've talked to many friends who have given up for the same reason. We do usually get better service if we sit inside.

My wife and I have been going to to Johnny Grits since they opened. We have had many great meals enjoying the outdoor patio. They have had some quality control issues recently, however it appears the management has brought the restaurant back to what we first experienced and enjoyed! Today we had our same favorite meals and they were better than ever! The plate presentation by the kitchen staff was great. Flavor and details of the preparation of our meal was excellent! Compliments to the wait staff, kitchen and management for bring a great restaurant back to greatness!

I went here early Sunday afternoon and it was great! The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. You have the option to sit inside or outside which great with the view of Main Street. The waitress was very nice and the food was awesome. I will definitely be back to try some of their other menu selections.

A lot of people are sleeping on this place, me and my family just moved from colorado and this is the best place we’ve eaten at! Service was nice and quick, food was so good! 10/10 recommend

Eggs over medium hard as a brick, potatoes over-seasoned with salt and 2 strings, yes string of undercooked bacon. The 3 cheese grits were too coarse and gritty. Save your money!

WOW! We walked in and seated ourselves, the waitress NEVER even brought us a glass of water! We decided to be nice, maybe she was busy we thought, since they also have out door seating, but...my husband went to take a look and said there was barely anyone outside! The waitress was chatting idly with another worker! We sat in our booth, I kid you not for one hour, before we walked out and went to Rose's Bistro! I do not think they even noticed! A shame to, I really wanted their veggi burger! :(

I ate a veggi burger here once and loved it, so I had my husband take me back Big mistake! We had to seat ourselves, the waitress never even came over to our booth to offer us a mere glass of water! After waiting a full hour we gave up and left for another restaurant near by! They obviously did not want our business, no one even notice us come in or leave! The place was practically empty so it was not like we could chalk it up to them being busy. We will not be returning here again.

Chicken Hash dinner was delicious as was the fried catfish. Awesome jalapeno mac and cheese. $2.00 beers, pleasant ambiance and attentive server. Will definately come again when traveling this way.

Placed a to go order from this restaurant. I waited an very long time considering they only had 2 tables occupied. Once I got to my car, I noticed this all caked on black goo on my bag. Not sure what it is. But I just tossed the whole bag.

I used to LOVE Johnny Grits. It was a happening place with good food. Loved their Short Ribs. Then it changed. Menu changed. Hours changed. Never really busy. But yet the service is normally slow.
