We arrived thinking we were eating at Farmhouse 1906, but the name on the door has changed. Be prepared to be greated by a frown. My husband’s food was so bad he didn’t eat anything past the first bite. The french toast was pretty good, the bacon was disappointing, and I didn’t even try the eggs after my husband mentioned how bad his tasted. The place was empty with the exception of one other person. When he got up to leave a server met him at the register. We jumped up and checked out.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated another 30 minutes before we received our menus and that was because I walked up the the server and told her we have been waiting for 30 minutes to get the menus and drinks. Waited a total time of 1hr 45 minutes before we were able to eat. First time we come here under the new administration never again. 1906 Farmhouse used to be much better and the service used to be great they lost a local customer.

This restaurant can't possibly stay open much longer. Went the other day and would not recommend it. Lunch time and there were only 1 or 2 other parties in the entire place, which is pretty big. It quickly became apparent why. The food is okay, nothing to rave about. The decor is cute. The service was some of the worst ever. Again, given that there were only 2-3 parties in the entire place, and 3 servers, we could barely get anyone to provide any service through the entire meal. Had to get a second menu when my friend arrived, had to wait for my friend's water, needed butter and received one little cup so had to go search for more (because the server disappeared), couldn't get her attention for a to-go container for 15 minutes, waited and waited for someone to finally ask about the check, and waited longer for them to pick up my card (even though they were standing nearly next to us). I wish them luck but I can't imagine how they'll stay open. I won't go back and can't recommend it.

Better check your orders. Breakfast with 2 eggs, grits, toast, and double bacon. Got home, no grits! And no, I'm not making a 30 minute round trip for missing grits

I went for the All you can eat seafood for $49.95. this included snow Crab two kinds of fish, Shrimp, baked beans and coleslaw and rolls. Everything was good except the Snow Crab was Over Cooked.my Waitress was Glynda, she was very Helpful and did her job well. I believe the Snow was Reheated in the Microwave. Other than that very nice Restaurant.

Have gone here twice, I've only eaten here once. Service is a joke.
1st time: walked in the door to be seated and was instantly asked if I was waiting on my check. Explained I just arrived and was waiting to be seated. Was seated, 12 minutes later server (won't name her) took our drinks and food order. 20 minutes later a 2nd server asked if we were ready to order. Explained we already had and have yet to even receive our drinks. She apologized and quickly returned with our drinks
About 5 minutes later the 1st server came back to the table to tell us they were out of one of the times. (It had been almost a half hour since we ordered and she was just now telling us).
Ok, changed order. 11 minutes later was told there would be a delay as they had to make one of turn side dishes fresh?!?! We are now at almost 45 minutes getting told this. Server used they excuse they it was a busy evening. Including us there were 3 tables and 3 servers. If one table per server is overwhelming they need to seriously consider retraining the staff.
8 minutes later dished arrive minus the one side. Just over an hour since walking in the door for (most of) our food to arrive another 5 for the final side.
Figured they had an off night and decided to give ir another shot.
Called at 11:22am to place a to go order. Was told they were busy and give them 30 minutes. Understandable; I arrived 50 minutes after placing the order to be told no placed a to go order that morning. When I named the lady I spoke to on the phone she then remembered and started to frantically type into the POS.
I told her if she had forgotten to place the order just to forget it. She admitted she did forget (no apology) so I left. (8 tables and 3 servers visible).
Two visits with consistent service. BAD!
Now for the actual food.
BBQ pork was bland and dry, mac and cheese is soupy give a Sysco out of a can vibe.
The Cuban sandwich was amazing, seems a ham and cheese sandwich is the limit of the kitchens skills.
Do yourself a favor and skip this dining establishment.

Restaurantji Recommends
After having a bad experience at the rival restaurant a block away, (we left after being seriously disrespected by their cashier) we came here and, OMG, that was the best decision ever! My food was amazing! The cook did get my husband's burger order wrong but the manager took it upon herself to go into the kitchen, recook his order and make it a HOMERUN! Our server was also awesome! Will definitely come back!

I want to love this place. Ive been a few dozen times and its a mixed bag as far as what you will recieve. I will however say that they are switching owners, and they are really really trying. There are a lot of things I could say on here, behind a screen, but I mentioned the things that need to be adjusted to the new ownership, and she promised me that they are doing all they can to alleviate the issues that arise. I do recommend coming here, there isnt any better option in Newberry in my honest opinion. Especially if you want a restaurant that feels 100% authentic and human. The all you can eat seafood is a lucrative draw, as well as the comical karaoke; overall, this is a fun spot to relax, grab some food, and take a load off with a very American experience, and a semi regular southern hospitality charm.

We were looking for dinner late Sunday night and found this gem on Google. Casey and Glenda were welcoming and made us laugh 😅, the bathroom was clean, and the food was good. We will stop by again!
