The bartender took our food order. The kitchen forgot to tell her they were not opening till 4pm. We waited for a very long time for just onion rings. Then finally we were told the chefs were just turning the oil on. Meanwhile my 85 old mom needed to eat something. Awe she forgot to tell us the hot dog she also ordered was not available. 2 people in the bar only.

The place was completely empty which maybe should have been the first sign. Done the lack of customers you think you would get more attention from your server, well I was wrong. Leaving old cups on the table and not giving the right information when asked questions about the menu, I would prefer an I don’t know over wrong information. I ordered the baked penne, no flavor whatsoever, by bland sauce with cheese and some noodles, it was gross. The fries my daughter and dad got you can tell had been sitting for quite some time, and the beer battered fish, the breading was soggy and no flavor or seasoning had been added, the chicken quesadilla was just your best basic quesadilla. I would not recommend eating here. The Standard did not live up to the standard.

This restaurant has been closed for several months (October 2023) due to the discovery of black mold, and it's still closed as of January 2024. Make sure to verify the location when making reservations so as not to drive to the closed down location accidentally.

Went last night for dinner and a Penny Auction. They weren't prepared for a room full of people, I assume, by lack of employees. Everyone's food came out at different times. My Cajun chicken Alfredo and my fiances Flatbread sat under the heat lamp soo long I my Alfredo was dried out on top and the plate scorching hot. Same with the Flatbread. Won't come back to this location but will try the one downtown.

Best entrance is off of Tamiami Trail.Restaurant is nondescript from the outside, part of a building that houses the HOA and golf pro shop.Inside is a large dining area with a very large rectangular bar.Food was very good, $10-20 per person roughly. Ask your server for any specials. Example: The night I was there flatbreads were buy one, get one half off.Attentive and friendly staff.Vegetarian options: There were a few vegan/vegetarian options. The Summer Salad and Penne Pesto Pasta among them.

OK, we tried The Standard last Saturday. It seems to be a restaurant that is open to the public, located in a community clubhouse.The food was OK, my husband’s food was not the best, he said he would try the restaurant again, but he wouldn’t get the pizza again. The service was also OK, they were nice, very nice, and very entertaining, but it was still missing something. The atmosphere, there was no atmosphere, it’s really a giant bar, four TVs with nothing on them, and tables going around the bar. There is no special lighting, there is no extras or anything like that.I would have to complain that there is no sign outside on the building that says The Standard Restaurant if there was, we completely missed it.Nonetheless, we would try it again, just to completely make sure and of course I would update this review if we like it better the second time.
