I understand that everything happens in life. But please make a tiny effort and update your business hours on google maps. It takes literally a few seconds. Came for dinner at around 6:15, place was closed. And not not yet open, closed, fully, dark inside, chairs on the tables. Will change review if acknowledged. Thx.

I definitely recall this place from years ago, back then i believe the name was Yakkon San. It was the local late night sushi place that i further believe has some sort of an association with Hiro's sushi on 163rd (maybe same owner or partners?). In any case i very much enjoyed my dinner. We came in at around 8pm and the place was empty save for staff. We were greeted and seated immediately, drink order was taken shortly after. We reviewed the menu and settled on an assortment of items: salmon carpaccio, tempura veg and shrimp tempura roll. We also tried a couple if the grill items, chicken thigh and bacon asparagus. Everything was fresh and delicious, cooked items were served hot, and the service was friendly and fast. The restaurant itself is smaller than its predecessor, but it is a good size and can support most size parties. My only complaint is that gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I've just never been a fan of the practice, though i can understand why some places might do it. Regardless of that one point, i definitely recommend this place! Enjoy!

Wow. I have been to many Japanese Restaurants, Including Morimotos, and Komoto, and the third is Yakka Bistro. I was able to experience edible culture, without breaking the bank. Before I even finished my miso I told the chef I will be back. A special place that is to be cherished by all for years to come.

Oh how I miss their previous establishment, YakkoSan. This is not the same place that had a friendly and inviting staff or hours of operation that they stick to. They seem to close when they please. When we arrived, the staff didn’t even look our way. We had to approach them ourselves. They advertise that they’re open until 1am and we arrived at 12:30 but they had decided to shut things down early and told us they just closed. I wouldn’t expect that on a Saturday night. All we wanted was 20min or so to have some sake and beer. They said we could have it to-go. I asked if we could just sit at a table and enjoy sake quickly rather than taking it to go and drinking in the car. They looked at each other and shook their head and said “sorry, we’re closed.” I used to frequent the previous location and was excited to come to this new one. To say I’m disappointed is understatement and I’ll never come back again. This place is new, but certainly not improved, what a shame.

HIDDEN JEWEL!!This is an original experience with Asian food. Not the regular japanese although their rolls are very good. This is Japanese tapas place!Try their mixed salad with tasty and light dressing, Lotus roots kinpira, spicy tuna harumaki (rice paper, no rice), seabass miso, and their kushi yaki (grill): gizzard, quail eggs, shitake mushroom and not least, lamb chop hichimi yaki!!Very attentive service but too few people. I hope more people discover this quality japanese restaurant se we can come for many years to come.Do not miss it!
