Always a great stop to eat. We live in Seminole and like to dine out at Coconut Charlie's. Great food. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Will be back soon. Excited to see the new outside area.

Breakfast is a great deal. Lunch and dinner is good but portions are a bit small. Barely any fish in the blackened fish tacos. Service is great. Wonderful waterfront view of the gulf.

I was looking for a nice restaurant in Madeira Beach to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Since she loves seafood, live music, and an ocean view, I chose Coconut Charlie’s.
We arrived on a Friday evening and easily found parking in the DoubleTree Beach Resort lot. Their patio construction was finished, so we were able to sit right by the rail overlooking the beach. A beautiful setting to watch the sunset and later the full moon.
We started with the coconut shrimp, which were delicious. Unfortunately, the blackened mahi mahi entrée was disappointing. I had asked for it to be cooked medium so the texture would be softer for my mom to chew, but it came out well-done and tough. The coconut rice also was undercooked and lacked the flavor we were hoping for. On the positive side, our server Marty was very kind and gave us complimentary drinks after we shared our feedback. I tried the Mermaid Water (not as strong as I expected), while my mom enjoyed her frozen pink colada.
A couple of downsides: the restaurant doesn’t offer complimentary birthday desserts, and there was no live music on Friday evening as we had anticipated.
Overall, Coconut Charlie’s has a fantastic location with great views, but the food and experience didn’t quite live up to expectations for a special celebration.

When I decided to stay at the DoubleTree I knew I'd probably have a few meals at Coconut Charlie's, I had no idea I would have nearly all of my meals here and without much complaint either!
Every meal I had was good, some were even great. Service, with the exception of one meal was always fast and friendly, it didn't matter if I was dining in or getting my order to go. Even the morning that it was on the slower side I feel like they must have been short staffed or something going on in the kitchen, it wasn't anything major and with the view of the Gulf to keep me company I could hardly complain.
I felt like the prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant on the beach, and portion sizes were good.
I had breakfast multiple times (including the weekend buffet), the Cuban sandwich, Cobb salad (with added steak),Turkey Club, Cajun Pasta, Pesto Chicken and the Build Your Own Flatbread. The only thing I wouldn't get again is the breakfast buffet because the sausage is much better when you order it off the menu. If it were the same sausage on the buffet I would probably eat my weight in it. LOL
The staff at the restaurant was really top notch too. They remembered me and made conversation, I cannot tell you how good that made me feel.
The atmosphere also can't be beat. If you are dining inside you have a cool and comfortable setting, and if you are outside you are either on the covered patio, or down below on the deck under a shady umbrella. No matter where you are seated you have the beautiful view of The Gulf.
I would not hesitate to eat here again when I'm in the area, even if I'm not staying at this resort. Highly recommend as well.

Indoor options are fine but you really want to ask for the deck seating to get a nice view. At night the stars shine as bright as day. The host was great and gave good recommendations. Server was awesome and help me get a sense of what the drinks provided. Had a rum runner that had my head running. Had the special and got grouper tacos and the burger. Don't be like me and get a basic burger. Go for the tacos. Crunchy and delicious, give me 14 more.

From the moment we walked into Coconut Charlie’s at the DoubleTree Hotel in North Redington Beach, we knew we were in for something special. We arrived as a party of six, about 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing, fully expecting the usual “late guest” vibes. Instead, we were greeted by Cheryl at the host stand, who welcomed us with a warm smile and zero hesitation. She made us feel like we were right on time, and that set the tone for the night.
Now, let’s talk about Mikey — our server and the true star of the evening.
Mikey went above and beyond in every possible way. From the moment he introduced himself, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He never made us feel rushed (despite the late hour), and instead, he took the time to walk us through the menu, answer every question with genuine enthusiasm, and offer great recommendations. His professionalism was matched only by his authentic personality — funny, kind, and sharp. You could tell he really cared about making sure we had a great experience.
He checked on us regularly without hovering, ensured every special request was handled perfectly, and treated us like VIPs from start to finish. The kind of service Mikey provided is rare — the kind that turns a good meal into a memorable experience. If I could rate Mikey 10 stars, I absolutely would.
The food? Delicious! Every dish we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But as great as the food was, it was Mikey's outstanding service that made this visit truly exceptional.
To the management at Coconut Charlie’s: Mikey is a gem. Recognize him, reward him, and do everything you can to keep him — he’s the reason we’ll be back.
Highly recommend this spot, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Mikey as your server. Thank you to the entire team for making our evening so enjoyable!
We have eaten several times here and Mikey’s service was consistently awesome.

You can’t beat the atmosphere as it’s right on the beach. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The food was mediocre at best and for the price I expected much higher quality. My Caesar salad was iceberg lettuce and my steak reminded me of something I would get at Applebees. I wish I had known that or read the reviews before dining here because I definitely wouldn’t have ordered it for $40.
Anyways, I know this is the price for eating on the water as I live locally; however, I wouldn’t go here to eat again.

Way overpriced for mediocre at best food. The meatloaf had no flavor. The shrimp bowl came on a plate with rice in the middle of the plate and the ingredients around the outside. I can get the concept of adding ingredients to your own liking, but serving it on a plate made it impossible to mix. The shrimp was burned yet somehow served on the lukewarm/cold end.
It took over an hour for our party to receive food, and the waiter came to our table exactly three times: to take the drink order, to take the food order, and to deliver the check at the end. If he had returned at any point, he would have known that some of us were missing parts of the meal we ordered. Or we would have had more alcohol, which would have probably made the food taste edible.
Almost $70 for two entrees and one mixed drink is absolutely insane for the lack of service and quality of food provided. Absolutely a tourist trap. There are many places nearby with way better quality food that cost half as much.

If you are looking for excellent food, service, and atmosphere, this is the place to be. The Executive Chef is pure genius, and his Coconut Grouper is amazing. Perfectly balanced flavors are so fresh and clean. Our server, Daniel, left us feeling like celebrities and took wonderful care of us. Our drinks never ran dry, and he was so fun and relateable! We will make this hidden gem a regular stop when we are in Reddington Shores.
