My husband and I come to FWB often and stay here at the Holiday Inn or Hilton next door (depending on points, price, availability, etc); however, we ALWAYS eat at Riptides in Holiday Inn.
This past week, we enjoyed some takeout so we could eat outside. Terry was our server. She was very helpful, cheerful and accomodating. We came in the afternoon when it was a little slower so Terry and Toya both chatted with us while we waited. Very friendly! We also MUST give a shout out to Joe in the bar. Though we didn't go to the bar this week, we often do and Joe is great! He's been there a long time and he remembers us when we visit throughout the year. That truly makes us feel so welcomed. In all, the entire staff has always made us feel welcomed and appreciated.
As for the food items, we've enjoyed all the different items we have tried. My favorites are the sweet potato tater tots, margherita flatbred (with balsalmic), and the spinach artichoke dip. Husband faves is the seafood basket. He has had it fried and grilled and does feel the grilled is better (if you are trying to decide). Runner-up items would be the cuban sandwich and the killer club. Again, we haven't had anything bad, but those are my go-to's :)
I've actually never tried their burgers so not sure there and only have had the breakfast once. It is your general buffet with a few hot items and a selection of breads, yogurt, cereal, etc etc etc.
I also want to comment on another review I read about the sticky floors. That is pretty common in that area I believe as the salt water is constantly getting tracked in and it will dry and can leave a sticky residue. Just my two cents :)

The food was really good. They did mess up our order but noticed it before bring it to the table. So they brought extra fries while waiting. The staff was on point and fast. Atmosphere is low due to it being in an open hotel lobby, and the menus were just on printed paper. Would look a little better if it was at least laminated.

Really good food! We ordered the chicken cesar salad & cheese burger, both were great!
Ordered 2x, great both times! The only complaint was not answering the phone the 1st day, we had to go in person. It's really important with young children to be able to place to-go orders over the phone...

We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Resort for our Anniversary and my wife's birthday. As a Certified Master Chef, I can honestly say that we received Great food and Great service! Riptides Grill provided excellent food and fantastic service. The staff was attentive and exceptionally accommodating. The breakfast buffet has a good selection to accommodate the various appetite preferences and there were a la carte options you could order if you wanted something different. The food was all fresh and presented nicely. Hot good hot and cold food cold! People who leave negative reviews of this place obviously don't know any better. Whether or not you are staying at the Holiday Inn Resort, Riptides Grill is a fantastic place to eat and have some tasty cocktails! Kudos to the Executive Chef and his wonderful staff.

Acorn salad is really good! Just don't drop an acorn or a tyrant with a badge will shoot you......were you hit? I don't know but I feel funny! ??? Classic! Dumb-on America!
Audibly sticky floors. Someone else’s lipstick on my coffee mug, which I didn’t notice until after I drank out of it. Food was gross. Hard waffles. Dense undercooked pancakes. Server didn’t even bring silverware. And then clear table before I was done. Skip it.

Poor service, less than average food. We were looking for breakfast on Easter before heading to airport. This one was open. The dining area was not crowded and most of diners were eating from a buffet. I told waitress would order off menu and wanted coffee. Then we waited and waited. As time was passing and we were on deadline I broke down and picked a biscuit with gravy and a few bacon strips off buffet table (I wanted a waffle but they had been in steamer too long, my second choice was the French toast casserole but when tried to spoon a portion it was rock hard…so the biscuit) just as arrived back at table the waitress finally brought our coffee. Not a terrible cup but nothing to recommend either. The biscuit with gravy was not good…I ate half just for some fuel. Bacon was the average steam table fare. So time to leave…our waitress was not in sight. Hostess walked by and I asked her but, she didn’t acknowledge hearing me and kept going. Finally see our waitress—-had to flag her down. Paid full buffet price for half a biscuit, 3 bacon and half cup of coffee. Would recommend going “anyplace” else for food.
overall:- very good food in well-appointed surroundings served up by friendly and helpful staff- the value is suspect- the breakfast buffet was just a few notches above what you'd expect from a normal Holiday Inn hot breakfast; definitely not enough to justify the high price tag- the menu prices are inflated to offset the "kids eat free" aspect- very convenient location if you're at the Holiday Inn on-sitedetails:- we interacted with several servers and the head chef during our stay. they were all friendly and helpful.- when items were low on the breakfast buffet, they were relatively quick to refill.- the only item on the breakfast buffet that are not on a typical Holiday Inn hot breakfast was the french toast bake. all of the other items -- bacon, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, pastries, cereal, toast, etc. -- are commonly found but the chafing dishes were better than average. they did have a large dish of fresh fruit--grapes, melon cubes, fresh pineapple pieces, sliced strawberry. white and chocolate milk were available. chobani yogurt, too. the oatmeal was a bit on the watery/slimy side for me. they had brown sugar and other additions for the oatmeal.- no pancakes or waffles for the buffet. they were on the menu option.- i'd recommend reviewing the breakfast menu and looking at the breakfast buffet before making your choice.- all that i had on the lunch/dinner menu was good, but overpriced.- sandwiches from $15-19- apps from $12-18- salads, $12-19- pizza, $14-16- other entrees, $14-34- the hotel's website proudly proclaims: "Up to four kids ages 11 and under eat free any time of the day in any Holiday Inn® on-site restaurant." this is very, very misleading. while not the fault of the restaurant team, it is important to know this! What they really mean is (if you dig far enough into their "terms and conditions")...a) when ordering for breakfast, lunch & dinner;b) when ordering in the hotel’s dine-in restaurant;c) when ordering from the Kids’ Menu (which must consist of at least 1 main course and 1 dessert) and;d) when accompanied by at least one (1) adult who is registered as a hotel guest at the Participating Hotel and must order at least one main course from the full priced menu.during a recent stay, we had the following offerings:- cubano with sauteed vegetable medley:while not a traditional cubano, it was very good. the bread was toasted perfectly. it was flavorful and delicious. the veggies were well-seasoned and cooked just right. loved the portion size.- very berry bread pudding:initially served too cool in the middle. they warmed it up for me. large enough to share. the crusty bits were wonderful. not enough of the bourbon glaze sauce unless asked. the serving was a cube at least 5" x 5" square and about 3.5" deep. very good flavor. if you prefer your bread pudding more saturated or soaked, ask for a cup of the sauce for dipping.- manchester fish with sauteed veg. medley:the fish was very good and generous portion size. i got the veggies again and loved them. the breading might be a bit too thick for some. i enjoyed it. for the last filet, i extracted the fish from the breading and enjoyed the contrast.- cheeseburger with fries and vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle (kids menu) - the reviewer loved it!- pizza with fries (kids menu) - the reviewer loved it!

Breakfast is virtually the same that you would get for free at Holiday Inn Express, except that at Express it is free and here it cost. The quality is the same, and on par with budget brand free breakfast. For a breakfast the charges I would of expected more premium options.
We come here every year and love the staff, pool, and beach bars!! Fun and friendly with the tastiest drinks around. We love Becca and Gavin behind the bar. Great live music and fun DJs make it a party everyday at the Island. Can’t wait to book our next visit.
The food was amazing. But what was even more amazing was the server. Devante did an amazing job and made sure I had everything I needed. Everything came out in a timely manner and everything was delicious. 10 outta 10 would recommend. p.s Request Devante as your server!
