I just spent 55.90 with this place and I am so utterly disappointed. The general taos chicken had barely any sauce on it, I paid and extra 2.50 for shrimp lo mein and I got 2 pieces of shrimp. The boneless spare ribs had no sauce. Thankful that I ordered steamed dumplings and crab Rangoon because those are the two best cooked items in this entire order but they were also skimpy on the sauce for those too. It just isn’t worth spending my $60 bucks when you can go to Sakura Buffet in DeLand and pay $15 per person. I just wanted some really super yummy Chinese food. After working a 16 hr day yesterday and getting maybe 3 hours of sleep before working another 9 hours today which both days included 2.5 drive time I could just cry right now. I read so many reviews on so many places and I guess I just had too high of hopes. ?

China Star has always been good. But, lately. Exceptional! Seems like they stepped up their menu yet prices are still great! Food is very fresh and very tasty ?

I have been ordering from China Star for over 10 years. If I'm craving Chinese food and can't get to Mills50 I'm ordering from China Star, yet I have never left a review. My apologies. Today, I ordered online and as usual my order was ready quickly. I changed something though by asking for no wontons in my soup (this is usual for me) and asked them to add green onions and mushrooms IF POSSIBLE. When I tell you they hooked me up with the most beautiful broth I've ever seen...and delicious! I just wanted to pop on here and give this beautiful family their props because they have been grinding for years! I have literally watched their boys grow all the way through school They are honest and their food is delicious. I will be a customer as long as I live in the area!

I ordered scallop plate and happy family food was excellent and I picked it up myself because I don’t trust DoorDash or Uber eats or any other delivery services.The restaurant was clean service was friendly and fast and professional. The food was hot and delicious and exactly as I ordered it. I will be going back again.
They screwed up my order and blamed it on me.. arrogant nasty people and the food is not what it used to be!! I am thankful we didn’t have bugs as others have!!

called in an order they got it wrong!! called to tell someone and spoke to owners son who told me " that's what written down! i didn't write it down!! I know what I asked for!! he again said well that's not what the order says!! No apology, no way to rectify the situation just an arrogant attitude! I have been going there for years and always encourage others to try them but never again!!

Used Uber eats, food was delicious, egg rolls were best in the area, this was our first time ordering from China Star didn't even know it was there previous to Uber recommended them.

Was craving Chinese and wanted to try out a different spot than my usual one. We ordered the food from Doordash so I can't speak on the service. The Krab Rangoon here was good! I liked the filling, some places can't seem to get it right. The Wonton Soup broth had a good flavor and the wontons were standard. The Lunch Special portions are a good size here. I really liked both the General Tso and Sesame Chicken. The sauces were good and I didn't get weird chewy pieces of chicken. I upgraded my lunch special to get Vegetable Lo Mein instead of rice and it was really good! The sauce had good flavor and they put a good amount of veggies in it. I would definitely order from here again! They are one of the better Chinese take out places around this area.
This is the best Chinese place. The food is always piping hot. It's delicious in every aspect. Thank you china star, you're the best.
