Unique Soul Food & Cigar Lounge

This place is absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed the most delicious cheese grits with fish, collard greens, and spicy wings. My lady really liked her pork chops and cornbread. The staff is so kind, and the inside is very nice.I can’t say it enough that the food was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and just so deliciously made. The prices are excellent as well. Go here and go here again. Great place! Thanks

A friend of mine & I went there Saturday night (night before) and we had an amazing time! The live music was great, the food was amazing, and I also had dessert (lemon pound cake). For the food, we ordered separately and tried each other food and everything was great! WE loved the Mac & cheese and the deviled eggs are great too and the drinks?! Amazing! The atmosphere was great, the seats are very plush & comfy as we were there for hours. The cigar lounge was nice too and the humidor was nice as well, so if your guy smokes or enjoys a cigar once in awhile, this is the place to go! Oh, they also serve brunch on Sundays...I can't wait to try it

Pulled in when it wasn't busy. Received warm greetings from the owner who also seated us. The cigar lounge was nice, the restaurant was nicely decorated. We ordered two different plates each person to try a little more on the menu after we seen that the prices were reasonable. Would like to see bigger portions for the a la carte sides but it was still a fulfilling amount. Would we come back? Definitely!

The atmosphere was beautiful. They have a brunch on Sunday with lots of different food choices. The service was wonderful!

First time trying this place and was impressed my the atmosphere and food. I even left my purse by accident and by the time I called, they already had it locked up in the manager's office. Will definitely be visiting again.

The atmosphere and vibe was perfect, the staff was very niceand oh my goodness!!!! I don't know who is back in the kitchen, they were definitely cooking up food for your soul. My best friend and I enjoyed the place so much we spent almost 6 hrs in there just eating talking, laughing, sipping and we even enjoyed a cigar in the lounge. It's definitely a Unique spot, I can't wait to ho back.

My mom brought home some plates of food from their Sunday brunch buffet and it was amazing! Everything was well seasoned and tasted great (even cold). Definitely a must try if you are in the area!!

Me & my family just ate here tonight the owner or co owner she was very nice and accommodating! 6 people in our party 3 of us loved our food 3 of us didn’t! I had the chicken and Mac both was great ?? our review is low because the waitress she was nice but she lacked etiquette & the others really dislike their food which was the shrimp & grits, oxtail, & chicken & dumpling! But overall I still would say try it!!! Oh and far as the vibe it was nice Atmosphere nice & clean… they do have karaoke ? which is a major plus!

If I could give zero stars then I would we paid $41 for two plates of soul food with childlike servings andone of my entrees missing when we went in to ask for a refund everyone had a nasty attitude! I left without a refund to never return to this place ever again and hopefully I'm saving the next person from wasting their money also! This isn't a soul food restaurant at all! More like just a lounge! I don't recommend this place!

Food was amazingly delicious! I had the oxtails and my husband had the pork chops. Pork chops were so tender u could cut it with a fork. Nice dining area and bar. Cigar lounge is comfy with a lot of tv’s. Also u can sit out on the patio. Can’t wait to go back.

I visited Unique for the second time on yesterday and again I was pleased with the custom service and the food. The food is so good, truly soul food. The waitress was nice and checked on us throughout the meal. I asked for suggestions for dessert and she recommended the lemon pound cake! Delicious. It has a nice classy décor. The cigar lounge was set up nice and the gentleman were pleasant to talk to. They had a nice private side VIP room. Recommend people go support! check it out. I’m happy we have Unique on the west side.

The vibe and music was great our waitress Lydia was the sweetest BUT the food was terrible ?l was so excited to come here and sit down and enjoy some good soul food but was highly disappointed. My husband ordered catfish and grits but it was unseasoned and the the fish tasted like they had just caught it and then dropped in grease..I ordered the chicken and dumplings at first but I spent time picking shards of bones out which SHOULD be mentioned in the menu (bone in) ,that I completely gave up eating it..i then chose the chicken and waffles , and I thought you can’t go wrong with that BUT of course I was wrong the waffle was BURNT so bad butter and syrup couldn’t soften it..so I just asked for the check because I wasn’t going to sit and be their taste tester any longer but if you just want to visit this establishment for drinks and calm vibe this is your place but unfortunately you may need to eat BEFORE coming.

Love, love, love this spot! The service is impeccable. The manager offered a tour of the establishment when I arrived. It's perfect whether you smoke cigars or not. We went after a comedy show, around 11 p.m. The restaurant (soul food kitchen) stop serving food around 10 p.m. However, there is a small cigar lounge in the back that opens up to an outside seating area, that has a TV and games (chess, taboo, etc). Fried food (apps) can be ordered along with drinks from a full bar. IT'S A VIBE...a grown and sexy one! Gentlemen are chivalrous and ladies are respectful. I forgot to get pics but the apps were on point and reasonably priced. The drinks were good as well. If you smoke cigars, they have their own humidor in the cigar lounge. I will definitely go back!

3rd visit and I love the classy and Grown Folk atmosphere, and the soul food is delicious! Great Bar selections, and on Fridays the DEEJAYS are phenomenal and the Live Entertainment is on point! All R&B music Lastly, the CIGAR LOUNGE which leads to a patio is amazing.

The atmosphere was great the establishment is aesthetically pleasing and by all means. Well let’s talk about the elephant in the room the food was absolutely horrible. Smothered chicken and pork chops has so much gravy thick gravy they almost slid off the plate all the side items were à la cart collar greens were cooked with vinegar talk to the owner and his answer was well I got to get my money. Other than that the music was awesome and just like I said the atmosphere was great and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and I hope they make it but I Hope they no longer sell food or get a cook.
