Black Hammock Restaurant

Do NOT order food from the bar qr code. It took nearly 2 hours and half our table had already left. Not only do you have to tip when you order, there is a 3% surcharge on beer and food. No one ever cane back in to see if the order was right or if anything else was needed. I will say the bartender was very noce and the view and band great.

I brought so many friends and family here for lunch , dinner and airboat rides. I live two minutes from here. The last two times the staff in gift shop was not customer service friendly. More lazy. First time The girl owe me 55 cents for my change and told me she doesn’t have the change and then I said can you get it from the Restaurant. She thought it was ok not giving me my change. Then I brought my friend for the airboat told him I’m a Florida resident he said oh I don’t know how to give the discount. I ended up paying full price. Just not precessional staff. The last two times their the gators looked unhealthy and one was dead in the cage. It’s starting to go downhill. Rotten wood on the doc and big piece of doc missing this was in February. Sad to say. The airboat ride and food is always great and the atmosphere. I just hope they get employees trained with customer service experience.

This was my first time eating at The Black Hammock, and I instantly understood why it’s a family tradition for my boyfriend and his mom. The place has that old Florida charm—laid back, no frills, just good food and memories in the making.

I ordered the chicken wrap with fries (crispy, peppered, no complaints), and my boyfriend went with the pulled pork sandwich topped with onion rings. His mom got the Philly cheesesteak and fries—she’s been coming here for years and swears by it. The vibe is easygoing, the service was kind, and it felt more like sitting in someone’s porch than a restaurant.

Plus—2-for-1 margaritas all day, all night? Don’t tempt me with a good time.

We’ll be back. I get now why this place matters.

The location is hidden but it has a nice view. When inside of the restaurant it looks old and it has a smell to it. When we were seated the waitress was nice but when she brought our drinks her hair fell inside one of the cups. She proceeded to pull her hair out and gave us the drinks. I felt bad saying something so I just had her switch drinks because the soda tasted flat. When we got our food it was warm not hot, I ordered a Philly cheese steak which had no flavor, my son had a burger drenched in BBQ (which we said to please go light on it) and my other son had kids chicken tenders which were flavorless, under cooked and a bit cold. My husband had wings and according to him those were really good. Overall an ok experience. Would I eat here again? Probably not.

Food is meh and the people who work there hate kids on bikes who are being respectful and just wanted to take in the view. They probably complain all kids do is play video games too.

Amazing service!

2 for 1 margaritas all day. Not the watered-down version you find at other spots.
Locals love this place and folks from outside Central Florida come to love it. Get the gator bites with Cajun sauce and their onion rings are the best.
Pulled pork sliders with jalapeño and coleslaw are amazing.

Restaurant was closed for remodeling, but they were cocking in some sort of food truck. They were very very nice to us, and the gator tacos were great!
My husband and I were very happy to find this very hidden gem.

Unbelievably friendly people and service. Worth the drive out. Wish i came sooner so i could have done an air boat ride. Will be back again! They even had some gluten free options for the gator which was amazing. Very accommodating.

Dietary restrictions: Im gluten intolerant and they were very understanding and made the substitutions that accomodated me. Very friendly people.

Love coming her after work and having a drink. The only complaint I have is that Shannon the bartender is not here after 5pm. So I am requesting to please have my favorite bartender after 5.

Nice place to visit unless they double charge your credit card after you leave.
