Had I read reviews from other service dog owners before I would not have suggested that my group meet at The Breakfast Club Tuskawilla. I also have a smaller service dog, she is vested. I have had her over 8 years, is well trained and knows her job. When we entered right away I noticed staff staring at us, shortly a male staffer approached me in a hostile manner and was completely in my personal space bubble. He inquired if my dog was a service dog (remember she is in her service dog vest), which is legal and a right of the restuarant, he then asked me what "conditions" I had that I required a service dog. NOT legal nor OK. I explained the SERVICES she provides me. He then remained hostile and intimidating as he angrily sad she had to be on the floor while at the table. I explained to him that she performs her duties better while tucked away on my lap, I further explained that know one would even know she was there. At least he consented to that. My companions noticed that we got dirty looks from the rest of the staft, the rest of the time we were there, except our waitress (a younger woman trying hard) and our meal took far to long (noting other tables getting far better and faster service)
I don't know who to report this to but I will find out. I am not the litigous, nor does this establishment deserve any more of my time , so I won't be suing. Minimally the staff needs better training, re-trained or some training at least on services dogs and the rights of those with service dogs. My table of 5 have all agreed to not return and to share this story with their friends. BTW my service dog and I have been to the other breakfast spots in Winter Springs without incident, one restuarant even offering a water bowl for her

I have been to this location several times and normally had really good service. I even like their food better than First Watch. I unfortunately had a very bad experience which leads me to never go back again. I had a friend with a service dog, complete with ID and vest, that clearly states "Service dog." Immediately upon entering, a male server from the restaurant aggressively confronted my friend about the animal. My friend informed him of the dogs credentials and offered the ID proving she was a service animal. The man stated he didn't care about the ID and wanted to see papers. He also specifically asked what was her condition. It was clear my friend felt obligated to tell him the details in order to be allowed to stay into the restaurant. After answering all his questions, he finally relented and allowed us to continue. The mood from that point onward was very uncomfortable. Everything from odd glances from some of the older waitresses, to the fact that our food took 45 min from point of order to delivery. It was noted that other customers who arrived afterwards received their food in 1/2 the time. The only saving grace was the poor young female waitress who served us. She obviously was being overworked, but still was polite and friendly with us. She got the orders correct and was very patient. If I could give a glowing review, it would be to her, and only to her.

Busy Saturday so we did not expect the fastest service but we saw other tables getting many coffee refills while our cups were empty. Twice when we politely motioned for refills 2 different servers rolled their eyes ( we saw different servers refilling coffee regardless if it was their table or not) the obvious regulars got prompt service while we waited and waited for every step of the process. Breakfast took over 2 hours due to service. By the time food came we gobbled it down due to being very hungry. Our main server, a younger woman, was nice but seemed to get no support from the other servers like they were doing for eachother. So was it that we weren't regulars or some inner drama between the servers? Who knows? End result our meal took gar longer than it should have, seeeing other tables get their food, refills , their check etc while we waited and waited. Word to the wise? Avoid peak times unless they know you by your first name. Food tasted OK, several orders for our table were incorrect, we mentioned but ate anyhow due to being very hungry and thinking replacement food would take forever too. Oh! We also witnessed one worker in an overly aggressive and confrontational manner confront an older woman with her service dog. We felt bad for this woman! She was kinder than she should have been with the overly confrontational interaction by staff. We were surprised her group stayed. It's one thing to respectfully inquire to protect one's business another to treat people the way this man treated this woman. BTW we completely forgot her dog was there, it was obviously trained well and doing it's job as a service dog

First, I want to say I have never given a 1 star review before but this place deserves it.

My family and I (and our service dog) stopped in for breakfast. Our service dog is a smaller one and when we go in restaurants, we usually take him in a stroller with absolutely no complaints. He always wears his service dog collar and we have his service dog ID.

I went in and sat at a corner booth - best spot for space and putting the stroller. It was perfect. No one greeted me. No one said hi. Finally, a waiter came over, "dropped" the menus on the table and left. My family came in with our service dog. Immediately, we were given an evil look. The waiter came over and gave us a difficult time. We showed him the ID but he wanted paperwork and instructed us on what "he" thought we should do with our service dog. My son explained service dog rules - didn't matter to them. They would not serve us. Yes seriously. We left.

I have never experienced this at all in any restaurant or public place. I reported them. This goes against all service dog policies. I would never, ever, ever go back to this place. The staff in this restaurant must hate their jobs. Sad but true.

After years of patronizing this establishment, it's time I left a review. BEST CORNED BEEF IN TOWN....done crispy to my my liking. Eggs done over soft were surprisingly done to order!! Wait staff knows your name, and many times, knows your order when you walk in.....Very attentive staff...particularly a regular, like myself. Don't come in here on a Sunday, at the height of the Church rush, and expect your order to come out 3 minutes later...be thankful you found a table....there's a reason it's quaint homestyle foods are the best for miles around. If you'll excuse me, my coffee is getting cold!

It's been a while but I went in today only to find out they no longer have the customized breakfast skillet and was unable to get it. Guess I won't be back.

Very bad restaurant. Waitress and owner had a very bad attitude and rude. We have a small service animal and not a large service animal. In many restaurants we put him in a stroller for being small. This restaurant refused my father service dog told us it’s not a service dog because he not under the table. He ask for my fathers paper work. This restaurant needs to know its laws on service animals. This restaurant needs to read the laws on what they are allowed to do when it comes to a service animal and its handlers rights. It’s my father rights to treat his service animal how he wants. This is the first restaurant ever to refuse my father’s 8 year old service dog.

Florida law

Florida law and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) allow service dogs in restaurants and other public accommodations. This means that service dogs are permitted in all areas of a restaurant that are open to the public, including the dining room.

Restaurants should not ask about a customer's disability or ask for documentation

Removal: Restaurants can remove a service animal if it barks, growls, or poses a direct threat to customers or staff.

Establishments cannot require documentation that a service animal is trained

In Florida, denying or interfering with a service animal in a public accommodation is a second-degree misdemeanor. Penalties for this offense include:

A fine of up to $500

A jail term of up to 60 days

Up to 30 hours of community service for an organization that serves people with disabilities

This restaurant will be reported. We probably will not do a civil lawsuit but it’s not out of the question.

I will never frequent this location again. Upon entering my neighbor and I sat in a booth. Then we were waited upon…my neighbor asked for water, then I asked for Sweet Tea no lemon, it’s an allergy, one which I have had since I was 19 years old now late 60s. The server comes back with an iced tea and a lemon immersed in the iced tea, which indicates that the lemon is in the iced tea. I nicely explained that I had asked for sweet tea no lemon, it’s an allergy. She wanted to take the I ed tea back, I said no, it will stay here until I see an iced tea without a lemon. Her response, I never heard of that allergy. I said to myself, I do not care if she heard of this allergy, it is real and has hospitalized me several times.
Then the food order for us, should be simple; we ordered the same…a Veggie Omelet, mine no mushrooms, with scrambled eggs, my neighbor it as well, with eggs over easy. They were mixed up and and the bottom of the plates had a pool of grease or oil. And, all she said was, I’ve been here since 6 AM. So, the place is open until 2PM, it was 1 PM. Very disappointed in the service and quality of food which did not equate to the $29.+ bill. Be on top of your game, being prepared to give your best to the place you work at and for.

A very good breakfast this morning was served at Tuskawilla Breakfast Club. I understand this is a different owner than the Breakfast Clubs around town.

Hannah was our server this morning. She was very quick about getting our drinks and coming back to get the order.

I went with the daily scramble. It is scrambled eggs with ham and fresh spinach. It's on a toasted croissant with hollandaise. It's very good. The home fries were very good and the fresh fruit was delicious! It had pineapple, cantaloupe, grapes, banana and strawberry. Hannah let me know it's fresh cut when ordered.

My husband went with the meat lovers breakfast. He said the eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, he really liked the flavor of the sausage, the bacon was crisp as asked, he asked for his corned beef hash to be very crisp and it was delivered just that way.

Overall, very good breakfast and service.

Everyone was in a good mood and there seem to be a lot of regulars.

Enjoy!
