Just an old mom and pop style restaurant with good food. Cash only
This was my first and last visit. Others have mentioned the lack of credit/debit, that’s still the case in 2020, which is pretty surprising considering there’s a national cash and coin shortage. Luckily we had some on hand. I should have left at first glance, as the restaurant was packed, with zero distancing and no masks by employees or patrons (during a national pandemic). Perhaps a sign out front advertising that they are anti-mask would at least warn patrons? It was uncomfortable having an unmasked stranger leaning so close to take orders.Regarding service, the waitress was plenty nice but not able to keep up with the full restaurant (solo). She had to take our drink orders multiple times and still got it wrong. It took forever to get food, well over an hour.About the food...bleh. The tea was not nearly sweet enough, but also had a weird taste. At a homestyle southern restaurant, I was at least expecting good sweet tea. We’d ordered burgers, but the meat tasted bad. Four of us tried them and all had that impression, so the ones who ordered burgers left them uneaten. At that point it wasn’t even worth sending them back, we just wanted to leave. Considering the low general level of cleanliness and that this area had recently been without power, I suspect the meat had spoiled but they were still serving it.I’m not a fancy person or especially hard to please, but I didn’t find anything redeeming enough here to warrant returning. For the same prices, I’d much prefer Waffle House.
Great people Great service home cooked
Nice home style . friendly atmosphere. Good comfort food
Great food and friendly staff. The diner is very small and homey. Loved it!
The food was good but the place needs a thorough cleaning. My glass felt like it was caked in grease.
Do not recommend. Turnips was awful, tea was different, hamburgers were premise patties and cook need to learn how to season and bathroom was nasty and dusgustun
I will start off explaining the negatives and end with positives, with a reminder this is based on my first and only time going there.
Good friendly service, fried chicken good, hot & crispy, mashed potatoes barely warm...hamburger steak way overdone.
I love Santa Rosa Restuarant. Good old fashioned down home cooking and you can't beat the service or atmosphere!

When we arrived, there was one group of 5 waiting for their food. She said that the biscuits would take 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, I asked her where our food was. She replied that he had taken all that time for making the meal for the group of 5. Our meal came 10 minutes later. Two eggs, grits, bacon, and a single biscuit. The grits had no butter. No butter on the table. Just not well prepared. Eggs were partly raw. The wife serves. The husband cooks. She was not friendly. The bacon was good!
nasty place, terrible service, food just so-so, but after a look at the inside and the flies, you're afraid to eat the food. But for some strange reason, the locals like it.
They got a good burger! We just happened upon this place and we are glad we did! If you like good home cooked food stop here! It takes a few to get your order but, when you do it’s hot and yummy!
I live out of state and was in town for a bit and stoped by. The food was great and tasted homemade. Best omelet I've ever eaten. They don't accept card which is understandable for a small place like this, but they did take my out of state check. I hope I get to come back by again.
Be prepared to wait! We were the 2nd group through the door and there was only 3 of us. Everyone that came in after us and got served. After waiting an hr for our food that NEVER came, we got up and left. This was our 2nd time there. The first time, service was still slow, but not this bad. The food is decent. Daily specials, which I like. Southern comfort food. Place looks like a hole in the wall. I don't make a habit out of writing negative reviews unless deserving.
