Disappointing Experience — Twice is Too Much
Tonight we visited Sonny’s BBQ specifically because we were craving brisket and ribs. Unfortunately, for the second time at this location, they were completely out of both — the very staples that define a BBQ joint.
We ordered the Feast for 4 expecting a variety and decent portions. Instead, we were limited to just sliced turkey and sliced pork, which wasn’t what we came for or what we were excited to eat. On top of that, we didn’t even receive the correct amount of meat for the feast — it was noticeably less than what’s advertised.
We ended up paying over $71 for a meal that was disappointing and incomplete. When we raised our concerns, all we got was a casual “we’re sorry,” with no effort to make it right.
This was our second visit with the same issue, and sadly, it will be our last. Two strikes and you’re out — especially when you’re consistently out of the very items BBQ lovers come for.
P.S. Our waitress was awesome, and definitely not her fault.

Adrianna in take out was awesome! Always super friendly and has an upbeat attitude. Food came out quick and she made sure everything was there before I left. Awesome staff, great job Sonnys!
Food wasn't up to par for me. Coffee cup was dirty at the bottom. Nice remodel.

I am not from Palatka, and I stopped here to get some “good” BBQ on my road trip home. I absolutely love Sonny’s and have been eating at the franchise my whole life. This location was a complete and utter let down and an embarrassment to the Sonny’s franchise. We placed a to-go order of two big-deal turkey sandwiches and waited for almost 20 minutes just for them to tell us that they were sold out of turkey. We then asked for a refund so we could get back on the road, but the takeout employee (Adrianna) said that the manager must do this refund from her computer. After waiting 11 minutes with no word, I asked Adrianna if she knew the status of my refund so I could get back on the road. She said that her manager was still in her office and that she didn’t know anything. After waiting around for another 5 minutes, I walked up to another employee to explain what was going on, and she offered to help. Within 1 minute, this server resolved the situation. I wish Adrianna was more helpful since I had a long drive home and now I had to stop at another restaurant for dinner. I couldn’t believe that the manager did not have the courtesy to come out and apologize for my incompetence. It is so sad that the customer service was so poor at this location. After being a loyal Sonny’s customer for over several decades, we have never been treated like this. I stop at this location often on my way home from roadtrips but I will never be returning.

I go through the drive through mostly ! The food is always fresh ! And the service is outstanding! Kelsi N is sweet and friendly always smiles and greets me as if she was expecting me !
Curbside needs work. But the food and service was amazing.

When a last minute baseball banquet was planned, Sonny’s went above and beyond to ensure it was catered to perfection for our team. Not only was the food delicious, they gave us a generous discounted rate.
