No posted menu online. Over priced average food.
The food here is amazing unfortunately they’re renovating and did not close the restaurant to do so, and we were subject to a weird vibe in an unknown corner of the building not very pleasant at all. A big part of this restaurant is the ambience and I felt like I was in a cafeteria Rather than a restaurant. I was also told I needed to rush to put my order in or the chef wouldn’t be able to make my food because there was too many people yet only half the tables were full.

Our small family of three went there on a Wednesday night at 8 PM and sat outdoors on there very well decorated terrace. The hostess, Liz was very attentive , in a stark contrast to recent reviews on the same website. It made me think there's always two sides to a story. The manager, of course, was very accommodating, and we were shown to a very pleasant seat with incredibly delicious cocktails, we couldn't ask for more. Following the cocktails, we ordered wine, which was all different for each of us, including Prosecco, white wine, red wine, but everybody enjoyed their choices . We had appetizers and entrées and suffice it to say, while realizing you're paying a premium price, you get what you pay for. For the record, appetizers includes foie goie, sardines, and gazpacho. Entress were marinated Hangar Steak, sea scallops, and seared swordfish.
This is an impeccable restaurant with a great staff and wonderful food. I always love, especially the prime rib!

At first the ambiance, the interior, and courtyard are stunningly unique and elegant. For sure the restaurant made you feel casually welcome and comforting. The bread and butter was nice and we saved the rest of our bread with our first appetizer we ordered The foie gras terrine and it was actually impressive with texture with tart huckleberries and strawberries to pair nicely with the brioche and foie gras. I’m not really a foie gras kind of guy but was glad to try Boulud’s version of foie gras and it did not disappoint. After our appetizer we put in our entrees order with our waitress, but it took 50 mins for us to receive our food and to remind you that we were only the last table there. I didn’t mind waiting, but from my experience in the kitchen that’s too long of a wait especially being the last table on a slow night. As our entrees came, the food looked great and presentation was spot on, but as I took a bite off my duck it was cold, the skin wasn’t rendered enough, and the duck was under seasoned and my girlfriend’s steak was cold too. I respectfully just decided to not complain to our waitress that the food was cold but instead give an approval nod that our entrees were good as our server frequently checked in on us. The texture of the dish was good but was bummed out because the food should be served hot rather than cold or room temperature. It was as if our food been sitting on the expo window for too long with no heat lamps to keep the food hot in case. For desserts the crème brûlée was a classic taste and it was delicious with a sweet note to finish our evening at cafe boulud. 3 out of 5 stars This was the restaurant I’ve always wanted to try and visit when I have the time to do so. Been a fan of chef Daniel Boulud’s work and French techniques for many years as a cook that’s been cooking in the restaurant industry for many years. I’ll be sure to be back sooner or later to take wonderful pictures on the Brazil hotel and courtyard. As for food and drinks I’ll gladly give it a second chance for inspirations but perhaps won’t be rushing to eat there anytime soon until then.
What’s happened to Cafe Boulud? Hotel Owner, Management and Chef Daniel needs to pay more attention to this restaurant. The food was lackluster and overall the service was amateurish. It just doesn’t feel the same. Even the menu is not typical of a restaurant of this caliber - it’s printed on paper and wrinkled and stained. Where are the menu books of the past? It all feels temporary, like an afterthought. Our food was just ok - side of hash browns was inedible - half cooked, cold and unseasoned. As locals, we love to go out to breakfast and will not be coming back here again, sadly.
Amazing pancakes! Never thought a restaurant could make such fabulous pancakes. Everything was impeccable, including service and other dishes. I am at believer.

Great Food! Great service by our waiter Calvin. Horrible attitude by the hostess Liz. She does not exemplify the image of this establishment. On the evening of Saturday Sept. 6th, 2025 we arrived at 5:15 for our 5:30 she preceded to tell us she could not sit us until 5:30. We waited in the lobby area, 5:30 came and went and we again approached her and she once again ignored us. At 5:45 she started seating people she knew. I then decided to approach the Manager Marcial who took it upon himself to sit us down. We have a great and pleasant evening with our server Calvin. Upon paying the check I sought out Marcial to personally thank him for the service and evening. As we left the dining area we walked by the hostess station in order to get to our car and as we passed by she decided to taunt us with her sarcastic comment and tone. “It was sooo nice meeting you tonight. Come back again.” At the point we were about 6 Ft past her and I decided I have had enough with this arrogant impolite hostess who clearly has no regard for the position she holds at this fine dining restaurant. I walked inside the restaurant and approached Marcial and once again advised him that I was simply leaving the place and she decided to seek us out with her attitude and her impolite behavior. He was once again apologetic towards me. As Marcial and and I were speaking Liz decided to defiantly walk up where Marcial and I were conversing, basically acting as I don’t care what you say as do I can’t be touched. Wow! Being local I can assure you that I will refrain from Boulud Sud and Cafe Boulud as clearly their culture is one that I cannot simply condone. I always support local businesses that deserve my hard earned money but not this one.
I reserved a table for my birthday called ahead and requested a table away from the kitchen and ended up being seated right by the kitchen and was told that someone walked in and insisted on the table we were supposed to be seated at so they gave it to them . Not very cool !

Our server was warm and knowledgeable and they did their best while the main restaurant is being renovated. The octupus bean dish was excellent as was the crispy paupiette of sea bass and wagyu steak. The sardines appetizer was ok and only included 1 sardine. We were expecting 3-4 for the price and better flavor. It's easy to create exceptional bread with naturally gluten free flour (for everyone) instead of serving store bought gluten free toast.

Visited Cafe Boulud for high tea. I was horrified when the waiters poured hot water in our tea cups and then gave us tea bags for us to awkwardly dunk into our water. I would have never imagined that, at such a nice location (or those prices), we wouldn’t have been served loose tea in a pot. That being said, the staff were warm and helpful.

update update: its been around a week since all this happened, zero follow up zero accountability. crickets. the hotel leaked my personal information to some random employee who proceeded to call and harass in a threatating tone do to a poor review we gave of the low quality food they serve. it makes you think if anyone in the staff can easily access your data what kind of other fraud could be possible. cc nrs, etc
after 15 years we will not be coming back. i hope someone up the food chain in corporate reads this.
update: stayed a night at the hotel using leaders club rate. bumpy check in not really 5 star experience. rooms are big a bit dated but nice american luxury from the 2010s. the food we where served was very low grade and below our standard. we left a comment online and a few days later someone from cafe boulud called me on my private cell line in broken english and semi threatened me. it was very bizarre. (in a bad way). how did he get my nr? why is he calling me demanding answers? do they call everyone who leaves a negative review?

Excellent fine, yet approachable, dining. The way they prepared the prime strip and duck was a masterclass on flavor and texture.
For the duck, the meat is a spot-on mid rare throughout, sous vide, then a thin layer of seared crisp skin that makes for the perfect bite as you drag it through the carrot puree. You'll find he ginger gastrique is satsfyingly mellow with just enough astringency to compliment the relatively lean breast.
The strip steak melts in your mouth, as tender as a choice filet. The classic, straight forward presentation with tender asparagus and hollandaise will satisfy your steak crave.
The watermelon and prosciutto salad with brown butter and tarragon was the perfect start to what would be an excellent meal. The broccolini with garlic and chili was the perfect balance of roasted and/or confit garlic and a faint bit of chili. Smooth, sweet and savory with no sharp notes.
Every staff member was attentive, professional, and friendly, from the chef to the hostess they had each been expertly trained.
Overall there was an attention to detail in the balance of flavors and textures in every single thing we ate. Masters of their craft. Will return.

Chef Boulud should be ashamed having his name attached to this restaurant. It was awful. Overpriced, the food was mediocre at best- after being sent back- and the service was abysmal.
Seriously- there is absolutely no quality control whatsoever.
This dinner was a special occasion. A very special occasion. Our group narrowed it down to two restaurants. We went with Boulud based on the name, and one particular dessert that our guest of honor was excited about (that she saw online) - the key lime tart.
AND THEY WERE OUT OF IT!!!!!
So she ordered something simple - chocolate ice cream. THEY BROUGHT VANILLA. THAT is how terrible this service was. Applebee's would have done better.
The only dish worth mentioning as being good was the NY Strip. And for $66, it'd better be. Another member of our party had the Moules Frites. They were OK, at best. But the staff just let the shells pile up.
Everything was overly salted. Particularly the chicken, which was inedible and had to be sent back.
Just awful. Don't go. Stay away.
And, Chef Boulud- shame on you.
