Quiet and clean environment. Got Fresh cheese with a Portuguese roll. The roll is amazing with and without the cheese while the fresh cheese should not be eaten alone. The fruit tart is elegantly constructed making it appealing to the eye. The taste of the fruit with the pudding mixes well yet the crust easily fell apart. The cream horn dipped in chocolate is somewhat crunchy with a light flavorless cream. The finely made lime dessert is fluffy, bold tasting, melt in your mouth treat with a chocolate lime decoration pressed into the middle. I look forward to trying more in the future.

Roll 10/10
Cheese 2/10
Roll + Cheese 7/10

Fruit Tart 8/10
Cream horn 1/10 (Would taste better without the chocolate)
Lime Dessert 9.5/10

Worth buying again:
Portuguese Roll, Lime Dessert, Fruit Tart

Honestly, I’m really disappointed with this place. As someone who isn’t Portuguese and went in hoping to get introduced to the culture through an authentic bakery experience—great coffee, pastries, cakes—I left feeling unwelcome and let down.

It does seem authentic in the sense that plenty of Portuguese people were enjoying themselves there, but as an outsider, the atmosphere came across as cold and uninviting. The staff seemed disinterested, rushed us through our questions about the baked goods, and generally made us feel like an afterthought rather than valued customers.

As for the food and drinks, they were a mixed bag. The pastries were decent—warmish, with good flavor—but nothing outstanding. The black coffee was extremely strong, which might be a plus if that’s your thing. But the iced coffee was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had: watery, bland, and clearly thrown together without care. It was so diluted you could barely even taste the coffee. If they can’t make it properly, why even have it on the menu?

Overall, the only truly “authentic” thing about the place seemed to be the brusque, stereotypical European-style service attitude. I went in genuinely hoping to learn about and enjoy Portuguese bakery culture, but I left feeling like I wasn’t welcome or worth their time. It was just disappointing, and I can’t recommend it.

Update (response to business owner’s reply):

I’m both surprised and appalled by the owner’s unprofessional and insulting response. Instead of addressing my specific, constructive feedback about poor service and product quality, they chose to accuse me of being “more manly” and shame me for sharing my ‘less than stellar’ experience. That’s not how any business, especially a small one, should respond to criticism.

I also find it disrespectful that they replied in Portuguese here on Google despite my clearly stating I’m an English-speaking American. When they are in a multicultural society like the United States they should be respectful of the different people that aren’t like them, just like I and so many Americans try to be with each other. I hoped to speak up honestly about the customer service and food to help them improve. A little acknowledgment and respect goes a long way for any business that wants to thrive in my humble opinion.

During my visit, while they did speak English to take our order, they weren’t as friendly or welcoming as I’d expected. They seemed standoffish and offered no real help, which made me feel like an outsider. I don’t know what they mean by friendly at all because I didn’t see them going out of their way to help me. The customer should be the priority always. No matter if they are making the most senseless requests or remarks, you address them with respect. And I take no joy in saying that about anyone’s small business, I genuinely try to encourage good behavior and stay positive. That’s why it hurt to leave a negative review in the first place.

But in the end, as someone who has worked in small business myself, I know that insulting paying customers for honest criticism is not sustainable. I’m leaving this update so others know what to expect, not just rushed service and disappointing iced coffee, but also a defensive attitude toward anyone offering honest feedback. If you want your business to thrive, you need to understand good customer service, accept feedback, and make a quality impact so customers want to return. I wish you the best and hope you’ll consider what I’ve said.

I’ve now been to both locations and they are both fantastic! A little taste of home! The pastries, sandwiches, and espresso was fantastic at a good price. The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating! Can’t wait to come back!

I was expecting something from Portugal authentic, but not was excited, outstanding, or very surprised. The atmosphere was like you are not worth it to be here to eat breakfast. We ate and were very disappointed with the service and atmosphere, and the food was not very pleasing. Not recommended for my views 😕.

I’ve been to this place few times, but my wife has only been another times. One time I was there, a very polite staff member informed me that the bread had baked a little more than usual. I said it was no problem.

Today, on Memorial Day, I had guests over and decided to go buy a few things to serve, because my relatives from North Carolina wanted to try it. That was a TERRIBLE DECISION!

When I arrived, I asked the person at the counter — I don’t know if she was the owner, but she was clearly in charge — how the bread was this time. She responded with sarcasm and rudeness, asking me if I wanted a “measuring tape” to measure the bread, and said other rude things I won’t even mention here!

I did not lower myself to her level. I simply turned around and left, and I can guarantee that neither I nor anyone in my family will ever return there.

I am a professional who also works with clients, and I would never treat my customers that way in my own business! Truly disappointing! I do not recommend this place!

Amazing bread and sweet treats. The counter staff are quick and knowledgeable and I love hearing all the Portuguese. I bought a loaf of bread and it fed a party of six for dinner and nothing was left over. Go and feel like you are in a quaint Portuguese bakery.

I like the food and coffee. Here is why I have 2 stars. Today I came in the place was packed, just a lady was taking care of customers. Later the owner came to help, she put on gloves but before she did she licked her fingers to open plastic gloves. To me that's gross, it's a food place

The bread is wonderful, the cakes are one tastier than the other, sweets for all tastes and the espresso coffee is a must-try along with a custard tart (pastel de Belém), in a very pleasant and clean environment. It is well worth the experience!

We used to love this Portuguese bakery and coffee shop, it was hands-down our favorite spot during our stays in Palm Coast. We would visit every morning for coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes, and always picked up something sweet for the evening. We raved about it to everyone back home.

Fast forward to now, our first visit back since 2020, and we were genuinely excited to return. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The place has clearly changed: the staff is different, the cappuccino was completely bland, and the muffin and cake we ordered was stale. It feels like it may be under new ownership, and sadly, it’s just not the same.

We won’t be going back.
