There are only 2 places I know in Pinellas County that serves Chinese Almond Chicken. It's only on Monday and Tuesday. This is the better of the 2 places

Closed Palm Harbor location unfortunately. Moved back to Clearwater Beach........Been going to this unbelievable restaurant for years. Never reviewed it. From The Motor City and come once a month now. I moved to St Pete from Palm Harbor....so it's a slight drive. The dogs are just as good as American Coney Island & Leo's, my old faves. All the foods comes from Detroit. So does the Stroh's beer, Faygo Pop, & Vernor's Ginger Ale. This is a real Coney dog. Great bun, dogs from Detroit, w mustard, onions & Coney Chili. No relish or ketchup or tomatoes...., sorry Chicago.Superb. Restaurant packed w Detroit sports memorabilia. Fave: my man Darren McCarty... autographed, framed poster of Darren lifting Lord Stanley's Cup.Always people from Detroit eating the dogs. Usually conversing about our city. I only get up to Detroit a couple times a year....so this is as close as I can get in FLA. Makes me homesick. Staff n service is great. Check them out. Hwy 19, between Nebraska Ave & Tampa road...west side of 19. Google & GPS it, It's set back a bit, in the front of a Florida style strip mall. Use GPS, as you'll end up circling 19 to get back to it. Go Tigers, Go Wings & Go Blue. Michigan Football & Basketball.

I don’t why they moved from Palm Harbor. What local is going to fight traffic to drive here now? Came here an hour before close, nobody wanted to serve us telling us they were already closed playing on their on phone, not even apologetic about it. Nobody was here…just close this place already. What a stupid decision to move here. How many ice cream shops does Clearwater Beach need? And this location isn’t even on the beach/main stretch. Useless

let me first day that we went to the original restaurant and loved it !! such a taste of back home !! we were so excited to see that they reopened in their new location! so as a Mother's Day treat, I took my parents on a 2 hour drive to visit them! The first look was dismal. No longer are they a restaurant, they're sharing space within a convenience store. We ordered 3 Big Boys, 2 fries, 1 onion rings, Walleye platter and 3 hot dogs .. with drinks it came to $98.I don't know if they are u der new ownership or what they did to the recipes... ask for tartar sauce on the big boys, and you're gonna get the same tartar sauce that is found at any restaurant for fish ... then they claim they have the Frisches tartar sauce ... there is nothing even close to what it was at their original restaurant and is nothing close to what it is up north .. for those of you that know, dipping fries is also a gem, but you can't with either of these. we left disappointed and let down .. it's not just the environment, it's whatever they did to change the food .. at the original place of theirs, I had 2 Big Boys .. they were amazing! Not exact, but it was close enough ... the new restaurant here, I only ate half and threw the rest out. 2 hour drive for mother's day gift was a let down.I will give them credit on their hot dogs though .. the coney dogs were spot on ... the Chicago dog was good, but definitely had better.I say this with heavy heart because the old place was great ... don't waste your time with the new place .. and for about $25/person, you can definitely enjoy an amazing meal elsewhere.

MARCH 2024 UPDATE:New location on Island Estates is awful. Not worth the drive and can not in the slightest enjoy dining in at this location. It's fine as a carry out place, but to eat here is basically the same as bringing your family to the WAWA for dinner. Not a good experience. The tables are tossed into the middle of a convenience store. If it's a busy time of the day, everyone hovers over you waiting for you to get up so they can sit. Not pleasant. A very uninviting experience. Go elsewhere unless you enjoy eating at a table outside in the parking lot or if you enjoy the convenience store environment.A damn shame such good food is now served in such a piss poor environment. Also, when mentioning my disappointment of this change from full service restaurant to what is now a convenience store carry-out, I was met with literal aggression. Then they also blocked me from their FB page which I loved to follow for years and always posted good photos on for years. So now even if they eventually take over the whole space, this patron will never return after such a reaction from ownership.A shame the owners can't answer constructive criticism about their future plans. A shame the owners now have such a bad attitude.ORIGINAL 4 STAR REVIEW:Loved this place. The coney and coney special and loose meat dogs are all fabulous! The meat topper is flavorful with the exact spice and texture needed to make the perfect dog. The coney chili is also good, although could use a little sweetness to it for a true coney dog experience, but this is just personal preference as all toppers were spot on EXCEPT the cheese. Fresh grated cheddar would have been the divine experience versus the dried bagged stuff. The Greek salad is also outstanding. Quality fresh ingredients and that hunk of feta was wonderful. Lastly. The pierogi's were great, but cooked slightly at too high a temp as they had a slight burned oil taste which happens if pan fried or sautéed at slightly too high a temp. But, they were still good and worthy as a side order. Fries are standard frozen variety, but for not being fresh cut, they compliment the selections well. If craving good quality dogs, burgers, gyro or other basic foods and in the area, this is a must eat place!
