There is no where else to go around here not better than Olive Garden . The monotone wine colored walls close in after a while. It's okay but pricey for overall experience.

Do Not bother making a reservation for a large party at Alaine's Osteria. One month ago, I made a reservation for a party of 10 in the wine room to celebrate birthdays and family that are coming in town. The lovely young woman I spoke with confirmed that the reservation was booked and that I would need to put down a $25 deposit in order to hold the room. No problem. When offered my card, she said she would call me in a few days to collect that payment. That never happened. Two weeks later, I called again, and she confirmed that she still has the wine room in the back reserved for us and that we still had plenty of time for her to collect the deposit and she would call me soon.Once again, that never happened.Yesterday afternoon, I called back, again, to provide my credit card number so there would be no issues moving forward. The woman on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, and could not find my reservation. She put a “manager” on the phone, who was then able to identify my reservation, saying it was booked and no problem and someone would be calling me in a few days to collect the deposit.Today, someone called to tell me, sorry, but they are no longer able to let us use the wine room because someone else had paid their deposit in front of us. This is after us reserving it over a month ago.So, after getting on the phone with another manager, we were told that there was nothing that we could do considering that we had not paid our deposit. This is the same deposit that we were told, and no less than three times that they were going to call us to collect as the date got closer. They offered to “maybe” put us in the bar side of the room because it was a little bit more quiet. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable because we had already reserved and booked the private wine room in the back.Moral to the story… Pay your deposit upfront, and get the name of the manager, that you spoke with, and a written copy of a receipt. Otherwise, they will sell off their spaces to the highest bidder, regardless of the fact that we are long time Palmetto Bay residence who have been frequenting the establishment since it opened.Never again.

Outstanding experience. The servers were super friendly and always very attentive. And the manager was awesome she took pictures of me and my wife. I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and I most definitely can do the same. I will come back!

Terrific family-owned restaurant in Palmetto Bay. Food is absolutely top-notch, great specials and wine, and perfect service. Love love love!

This is a neighborhood gem!! There aren't much restaurants around here, so it's fantastic to have one as tasty as this one. There are so many options, something for everyone and service was good as well.

I have tried Alaine's a few times. I know a lot of people are big fans but I am not for several reasons. 1) The restaurant doesn't seem to have any system in place for seating and waiting on the tables. You walk in. There's no room to stand at the door, inside. Maybe there's a hostess that night, maybe not. They have no idea who walked in first. They'll ask people who walked in 5 minutes after you if they've been helped while you've been waiting for someone to come greet you. 2) Once you're finally sat, it seems like no one knows who is supposed to be waiting on you. So, the staff arbitrarily goes to tables, not knowing that you've been sitting there for 10 minutes without anyone coming to wait on you. They'll go wait on a table who was sat 15 minutes after you were sat. Again, absolutely no organization or system whatsoever. You'll have to put your hand up or just yell out "excuse me! Can I please order?" That's the only way you can get attention. 3) Since no one is really waiting on you- it's kind of a haphazard experience. Your food will arrive after 30-45 minutes of waiting. People who ordered after you will get their food before you. You won't have any utensils on the table to eat with. Your waters won't be refilled, if you ever get any... By then you're already so frustrated that your food isn't even that good. Maybe it's cold because they left it sitting for so long. I don't write this review trying to hurt their business. If you look at my reviews, 90% of them are 5 stars. And even though I had a terrible experience the first time I visited, I still went back to give them another try. But the same thing happened again! It's incredibly frustrating to go out, be ignored, wait for a ridiculously long time for everything, all while spending a good chunk of money for the frustration. I like supporting local businesses. I like supporting small businesses. But, I also feel a responsibility to forewarn others of a potential problem. If it were a one time thing I wouldn't write this. But if it keeps happening, you need to look at how you're running things and make some major changes! I hope you figure it out and succeed, but I won't be spending any more money there. Two stars because some of the food is good.

Food, service, and ambiance are great. A must go to. Small place but big in food choice that will delight your palate.

Night we had a bad experience for the first time! I ordered veal. The meat tasted old, like it had been in a freezer for a very long time. The dish is supposed to come with salad or pasta, I asked for pasta. When I arrived at home is when I noticed that they didn't include the pasta. Not a good night for me.

The filet mignon was grilled perfectly. House salad was ample and tasty. Waiters were very attentive. Tables are a little tight. We chose not to have dessert because a loud party of six were seated beside us. While the decor is very nice including crisp table linens, I was surprised several patrons wore cutoff shorts and flip flops.

The food is delicious. It's a local neighborhood favorite. Yummy dessert specials. Two separate dining areas with a small bar. We visit regularly and aren't disappointed. Service is top notch as well.

Amazing experience here at Alaine's Osteria. Food was incredible and the service even better. Stefan took very good care of us and our wine glasses were never past half empty. His knowledge of the menu helped me decide when I was torn between all the excellent sounding choices. My fiancee ordered the seafood risotto and everything under the sea was there from mussels, to squid, and even lobster. The chicken francese had a tasteful amount of lemon butter and I almost wish I could bottle up the sauce used in the risotto.Would definitely return and recommend Stefan as your server.
