Barefoot Hide-A-Way

I don’t know if it’s a new owner or new management, but this place has gone downhill the last year. Scaled back menu (you can’t even get fish tacos anymore) and the last time I was there they “ran out” of sweet tea. The fish in the fish and chips were fish sticks.

I was here for a late breakfast on a Saturday, and the restaurant was extremely under-staffed. It was raining, so everyone was seated indoors - Although there were plenty of open tables, it took a while to be escorted to a table, and then about 20 more minutes before our server came to take drink orders. The food was very average, and my bacon looked under-cooked. The effort was definitely there from the staff, but the slow service and food quality were still disappointing. There are plenty of other beachfront restaurants in Panama City, so next time I'm there, I will be trying someplace new.

Much better than we expected! Great drinks and food, excellent, friendly service, fair prices… great spot! Nothing fancy, just a great beach bar!!

Ordered 3 cheese quesadillas, not sure what I got but these are not 3 cheese quesadillas . Couldn’t have a bite even.

Awful experience. We waited outside with our dog on the patio for someone to bring us menus. No one came and when we en entered to ask for menus they said no. They wouldn’t serve us if we had a dog because their server is scared of dogs. Even though all reviews say dog friendly and they’re on the dog friendly website. The servers were rude and we were very disappointed.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. EVEN ON THE PATIO OR BY THE BEACH. the workers were extremely rude to us and wouldn’t give us menus because their server was too scared of our dog and they told us to leave. Very disappointed.

We ordered margaritas and the server brought us frozen margaritas and advised that it was the special, which he never advised us of. The grouper was definitely not grouper. The server acted like he could care less. Never spending money here again!

The service was terrible which is sad because the food and views are impeccable. The wait staff and manager almost seem bothered by the customers.

The place wasn’t busy, yet we sat outside for over 20–30 minutes right by the main door where staff constantly passed us. Not a single employee stopped to greet us, take a drink order, or even acknowledge we were there. One server in particular looked our way several times but still ignored us completely. I’m not quick to complain and rarely ever walk out of a restaurant, but this was beyond unacceptable. We eventually left without ever being served, and no one asked why or seemed to care. Staff were more interested in standing around the bar talking than doing their jobs. If you’re looking for good service, I’d strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere.

Our family needed a bite for lunch. My take-away: there was absolutely nothing wrong with this place, but I still didn't love it. The pork nachos and cheeseburgers were good. But I wouldn't go back again. Just too overpriced for what it is.
