Came from Penscola for the day and had to come here, food made me feel like I was in my grandma’s kitchen. Wonderful food and people

High points: customer service
Low points: The food. It was definitely not fresh, lukewarm in some spots and generally lacking in flavor. While I appreciated the warm reception and the quantity of food (mostly rice), I cannot say that I will return.

Update/response to owner:
My review stands. The food was lukewarm and lacking in flavor. I did not get this place mixed up with any place as I seldom eat Jamaican food and I had hoped for the best but the delivery left much to be desired. Yes, others will see the review and have another perspective to make a good decision on available food options. My reviews are honest.

I’m here to give the Gods honest truth! The food here is freaking incredible and affordable unlike many of the Jamaican food places on Panama City Beach, Florida. My favorite is the ox tail with rice and cabbage. The meat is sooooo tender and perfectly seasoned. I’m not one to ever give a five star rating to any establishment, but it was just that amazing. You will not be disappointed.

This was our first time ordering and as a fellow Jamaican, I am happy to have found this place! Our oxtail and curry shrimp were excellent—not overly seasoned to provide flavor, just right to truly enjoy your meal. And then there’s the portion size! Worth every penny!!

Ordered Jerk Chicken plate but I'm not a fan of the sauce..I have eaten jerk chicken all over America that's oven cooked and love it. Chicken was favorable and moist and rice is a plus it's jasmine rice. Mac and cheese was good and cabbage needs a little more seasoning kinda bland. Next meal was jerk salmon it was good, the plantains was good but somewhat dry..Overall I give the place a 4 out of 5..The customer service was well beyond great. On to the next Caribbean spot in America.

10/10. Delicious. We got the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage and 1 side of plantains. You only need one side of plantains to slit between two people.

This food was most authentic Jamaican food I had since visiting Jamaica. They catered my husband's Birthday party this past weekend in PanamacityFlorida. The food staff and service were exceptional.

We ate 3 evening meals on 3 days, all the food and soup were great! The chicken foot, cow foot, and Manish water were 10/10!

I found this place in Google, I was looking for some goat or oxtail. When I got there, I thought it was going to be like a buffet where you can see the food and choose, but not, they have a menu and you have to tell them what you want and they bring it from the back (I was kind of concern). The place smells weird, they should put some aromatic thing idk.

Regarding the food it taste normal, it was not the best. And worst part is that after an hour me and my partner started to have an awful stomachache. This morning is the same. I’m not buying in this place never again?

Every tim I come to pcb I have to stop here for the oxtail and jerk chicken. Honestly it’s the cabbage and rice I love so much. Doubt there’s anything bad on the menu!

4.8 lured me in but the food let me go . Cabbage was well prepared and tasted lovely but the salmon was charred ( ordered with no rice ) and plantains were dry .
Service was efficient and informative, ready in 15 minutes, atmosphere was bright and airy, loved the authentic market but the food wasn’t it for me. I would say I’ll come back to try jerk chicken because maybe jerk salmon is my bad .

J shanelle has to be the best food spot in Panama City. Every visit I take down here this is the only place I look forward to eating at. Not to mention, one plate is more than worth it as I find myself full for the rest of the day. A filling good meal is quite hard to come by in PCB so J shanelle definitely fulfills my wants and needs.

I Drove a hour in a half wanting some good Jamaican food. My original spot Peppa’s was closed so we decided to try this place. The food was very basic lacking flavor and variety, with crunchy rice, plain oxtails in gravy, and basic cabbage. The limited menu offered only four sides, excluding popular choices like mac and cheese. While the food was served hot, it did not meet expectations for quality Caribbean cuisine. This place is not recommended for those traveling long distances in search of authentic Caribbean flavors.
