Panhandle Shrimp delivered directly to our door incredible, fresh shrimp. We used them for a yummy shrimp boil! Highly recommend this company!

Arrived 10 minutes before opening and the line was already out of the door. We were seated immediately (table of 5) once the magic 4:30 opening hour occurred. Drink orders were taken and served with delicious crackled rolls. 3 out of 5 of us ordered steak, iceberg wedge salads and baked potatoes. My husband ordered grilled grouper with crab meat, mashed potatoes and a regular side salad. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and the iceberg wedge salad. ALL of the entrees were delicious. Best we have had in Panama. Dessert was presented on a display platter so that you get a visual and what a display! We ordered the silk pie and the brownie cake with ice cream. Both were good but the brownie cake was the winner! Marcela E was our waitress and she was awesome. Top notch place to eat. We will be back Captain Anderson - you were awesome!

Labor Day week there was very little wait to be seated. The staff were friendly! Our waiter, Anthony hustled and made sure everything was perfect. The stuffed flounder, grouper imperial and she crab soup was excellent! Highly recommend!

Nice view, lobster was cooked to death but filet was great. Service outstanding. Shrimp cocktail good.

First, there is hardly an epidemic of adults or teenagers ordering off of the kid's menu and the ones that do aren't coming in alone we had a party of 10 and one child under 5. One teen wanted a kids steak ($15) with an appetizer order of Ahi tuna to complete their meal. No loss in revenue with the addition of a $16 appetizer. The other teen wanted the same kids steak ($15) and add a Greek salad ($5.50) again no loss in revenue to the restaurant. That leaves 8 full priced adult entrees being purchased plus beverages and desserts. Secondly, there are often items on the kid's menu that aren't on the adult menu. Sometimes all you want is a petite potion of red meat and the extra addition of an appetizer or other item for you meal. It’s not about attempting to eat for less cost as we can well afford full price steaks for them but it’s all they know from eating here the last 17 years, multiple times a year with us being locals and you well know teenagers are creatures of habit. Lastly, if your restaurant has positioned themselves in a way that the kid's menu loses money on kids meals then you should probably reassess your pricing. When we went over food costs, items on the kids menu were bringing in 4-5 times the cost. Either an item on a menu is an offer, or it is not. You can have a reasonable expectation that certain offers will entice additional purchases. You don’t put out the complimentary basket of rolls under the assumption that every customer is obligated to buy a $30 meal and the kids menu should be no different as long as other adult entrees are being purchased. Our party of four did leave the table and our out of town guests, in addition to other family members after speaking to the young manager who was adamant about the 10 and under policy which has never been done prior during our dining experiences for the last 17 years when we came to eat with our children now teenagers. I know the lost $125 on that ticket isn’t going to hurt your business but you should know you have lost the future revenue of our entire local family who has been here in the community for greater than 80 years and all our out of town visitors we bring in when they come to visit. You may want to reconsider how strict you want to be in the future as the long term loss far outweighs the short term gain.

First time back in 40 years and absolutely excellent! Celebrated my husband’s 82nd birthday with his sister and we all had the grilled shrimp platter with baked potato and salad. Rolls were to die for. Shrimp was fresh and prepared as ordered. My husband was treated to a spiced whipped cream icing cake for us birthday treat which he shared with us all. Our waitress was very attentive and wonderful. She went out of her way to and make his birthday special!!! Pricing was reasonable. Thanks for a great experience!!! Will definitely be back soon!!! ?

First and foremost I would be prepared for a wait for a table. We waited around 30 minutes (and were told 20). It is a large restaurant but you’re probably not going to walk straight in to a table. Second, we have visited here many times over the years. If we’re in the area we have a meal here. The food is consistent and fresh. We love the bread basket as much as anything. The grilled mahi was delicious, scamp imperial, stuffed jumbo shrimp and fried shrimp didn’t disappoint. They now have a $ 3 up charge for baked potatoes (just letting you know!) Debbie was our server and took great care of us.

Delicious, fresh seafood! This restaurant has so much seating that the wait is short (15 minutes) on a Saturday night during tourist season. All of the other restaurants had 1 hour+ wait time. One in our party had a shellfish allergy, and we were assured that the food is kept separate. This enabled all of us to enjoy what we wanted without worry. It was a great dining experience with delicious food. I would definitely recommend experiencing the food here.

Awesome! Great food and service! I certainly recommend this restaurant when in PCB. I had the broiled chicken and it was delicious. Make sure your get the cheesecake for dessert.

First time visiting and unlikely to repeat. Food and service were just OK but prices were high for the quality. This is s very large restaurant with capacity in the hundreds. Decor is nice enough, though far from elegant, but some of the food was over-salted. My wife enjoyed her crab “fingers” but found the crab cakes just OK —- a bit too salty and strangely “fishy” in taste. My onion soup was unlike any that I’ve ever had; little trace of onion, beef broth thickened with what seemed to be cornstarch, and not a trace of actual onion. The whole concoction was heavily salted and just shy of inedible. I had their special steak, a 7-ounce cut of filet. Salad was thrown together and looked it. Baked potato— a $3 upcharge—completed my dinner, along with two glasses of wine. Bill for the two of us was just a little under $200, not including tip.

I’m 43 years old and they gave me a kids cup. The food was terrible awful service. Go to McDonald’s instead the Dodd is so much better and they will treat you good. DO NOT GO HERE!

My wife and I along with 2 granddaughters just returned from Panama City Beach. The girls requested that we go to Captain Anderson’s Restaurant because everyone enjoyed it last year. We arrived just before 4 PM and they were seating patrons. We were led to a nice table near the water and were more than pleased. Our waitress was Tracy G and she was superb. Drinks were brought and orders placed. The salads arrived with crusty rolls. 3 Bleu cheese dressings and 1 Ranch. The dressings were excellent and even my oldest granddaughter commented that this was the best Bleu cheese dressing she had ever eaten (ll years old and I completely agreed with her assessment). Our food arrived in a timely manner along with a plate of hushpuppies. I ordered the chargrilled whole red snapper and a loaded baked potato. My wife ordered her standard jumbo stuffed shrimp with a loaded baked potato. Each granddaughter ordered fried jumbo shrimp with fries. Assessments: Our granddaughter’s jumbo fried shrimp were perfectly cooked. Their french fries showed obvious refrying. We took the hushpuppies and shrimp leftovers home, left the poor french fries. My wife’s stuffed jumbo shrimp were poor. Nice shrimp and well cooked but it would have taken a microscope to identify any crab. I tasted it and as other’s reviewers have mentioned, calling it crab stuffing is a long shot. We make crab meat dressing and offer it at special family dinners. She later told me that her dinner last year of stuffed jumbo shrimp had no crab flavor. If we come back she will change her order. Anderson’s jumbo stuffed shrimp are now for people that want bread stuffing with shrimp. My chargrilled red snapper was excellent. I’ve eaten it for over 40 years and the combination of spices, olive oil, green onions, and lemon halves for squeezing over the fish is about as good as it gets. I salt water fished and have enjoyed fresh red snapper over the years. I understand food costs have gone through the roof just like anyone else. I have paid for upcharges at restaurants all over the world. As long as they are clearly posted I do not object. When you order a baked potato you get your money’s worth= loaded with bacon, cheese, sour cream, and butter at the table. I understand the issue bothers people but there are good sides included with no surcharge. Their french fries are not one of them. I chose to pay cash. Someone telling me I am getting a discount for doing so is baloney. I’m paying the exact same price for my food as a person using a credit card. I am not encountering a restaurant added service charge. I wonder if customers paying cash should ask for a financing charge? LOL.

Truly an excellent meal with Garrett as our server. My husband had the shrimp and grits which he said was fantastic. I had the famous grilled shrimp, and they were the best shrimp I had during our time in PCB. Beautiful restaurant, great food and excellent service!

The first and only other time I ate at Captain Anderson’s in PCB was my girls’ graduation beach trip in the late seventies. It was our fancy night, and I remember it was the first time I had a seafood platter, and it had a Lobster! Needless to say, a first lobster makes was a very memorable meal for a 17 year old budding foodie, but we didn’t have that word then. Fast forward, my hubby and I find ourselves in Panama City Beach, and it was time to see if memory still serves. Friday night date night for Father’s Day weekend was perfect. Being a party of 2 eliminates a lot of waiting in family friendly PCB. We were seated right away along the front window overlooking the harbor. Perfect! I mean this night is shaping right up…. Having seafood was a no brainer, so we had a bottle of our favorite white wine. Their wine list is extensive, and the wine cellars and wine lockers for club members are impressive. Appetizers included their famous Grilled Bay Shrimp served in a pan with an obscene amount of melted garlic butter. Next time I will have them peeled for me, but this time, I just dipped in after those babies with no care. The crusty bread was perfect to really enjoy this abundance of liquid gold. I think I told 5 servers to leave my skillet of butter alone. No, we’re not done with it yet. Moving on, we had some delicious seafood gumbo and perfect Greek salads. Their Greek dressing was authentic and was “the good stuff”. Hubby’s entree was the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops with au gratin potatoes and a “Side” of 4 fried shrimp. He loves scallops, and said these were huge, and so sweet, with a good job on the sear. And they were sitting in garlic butter! I had the charcoal grilled whole red snapper, Greek style, and added lump crabmeat on top. OMG. Yes, there are eye sockets, teeth, bones and fins, but I quickly got over myself. We’ve already been dipped in butter. Just eat the thing from the top middle and it will be fine. It was a nice size fish and I ate my fill. I did leave the spine, but took the rest back to the hotel. The whole underside of the fish was intact. We had a kitchenette, so I made a very nice sandwich the next day to share with hubs and enjoy on the balcony. Also, their tartar sauce is to be commended. We only like the lemony kind, not the sweet. Theirs is amazing on the fried shrimp and yummy hush puppies. We took home a little container and used on the fish sandwich, which was all supported by a leftover crusty roll from our bread basket. Oh my, I was so full and happy. Their prices may be high, but you get what you pay for, and I actually found them to be quite reasonable in that regard. -$200 with a bottle of wine, appetizers, 2 entrees, extra seafood sides and toppings, and dessert. Cheesecake, to go. It was very good and on a nice shortcrust pastry. Will definitely go back to Captain Anderson’s!!! Can’t wait, and until then, I will be forever thinking about all that butter. Remember, tip your servers well, and enjoy your journey!
