I ordered from here tonight off DoorDash, I checked the reviews and they were all good, but let me tell you this place just gave me the worst Mac & cheese I’ve ever had in my life literally everything else was good but wow do not recommend the Mac & cheese

Let me start by saying I know it was thanksgiving and everywhere was busy. But his review isn’t bad because of the amount of people who were here. Also let me say the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Good, hot, very tasty. When my wife, my 4 year old son and myself walked in we could tell it was a little busy due to it being thanksgiving. We walked in and there were 3 people behind the register desk. One was on the POS system cashing someone out. The other two were engaged in a conversation about one of their phones. As one had their phone out. Anyway, we walked in and at that time we were the only people in the lobby area and we stood their for about 2 whole minutes and no one else walked in and there was a sign stating things about there thanksgiving hours and meals. And pricing. And on the top of this sign is said please seat yourself. After not being confronted by any employee and seeing 6 tables open we went and took a table as the sign said seat yourself. When we got to the table someone from the front came to us very rudely and sarcastically asked if we were wanting to be seated after we had already sat. I explained the sign and our confusion as the sign said seat yourself and no one stopped us. And she then stated not today bc it’s thanksgiving. And it was our first time here as well so it was even more confusing as what to do. The way she talked to us made my wife want to leave and made us feel uncomfortable as this lady walked around the room and never stopped to say sorry for her tone she used with my family. I don’t usually write reviews of the bad kind. Especially since I’m a local and I manage a large casual dining restaurant here in Panama City beach. We seat a few hundred a day and I feel like my front of house people would know, if we were open on thanksgiving, if we had a sign that said seat yourself we would just simply turn that sign around to avoid confusion with the customers and my front of house manager would never ever approach a customer with that tone. As I trained her and most of my front of house staff. Or they could of placed one of the posters they had up stating the holiday specials and the holiday hours over the one single line that said please seat yourself. As the papers that were taped up were conveniently taped just under this line telling us to seat ourselves. I feel like this all could of been avoided. But at the end of the day the lady who approached us had a very rude tone over something that was a simple misunderstanding. And it was until 15 minutes after we sat that she started taking names for a wait list.

This place is a must whenever you are on US 231 in Panama City, Florida. Home cooked veggies and meats (especially the fried chicken) are waiting for your plate. The dessert options is very rewarding (my favorite is the pecan pie). Staff is entertaining. The total price (there are different rates for diners) is right ✅️...Get over there...quick!!!

The waiter, amazing atmosphere super sweet the food. I can’t even read it one. The mac & cheese was so watered. The mashed potatoes was salty that I could not even keep it in my mouth. The food was horrendous. We literally got up and left after one bite of each I’ve never done that in my life. I was super embarrassed, but I’m not gonna pay for food. That’s going to make me sick. I do not recommend this place to anybody and I was literally been dying to go here because so many people recommend it , I don’t know what y’all were eating or what day y’all went but my day was horrible.

1st time. Was expecting more of a homemade and southern authentic experience. But dishes were limited, very bland, not well seasoned, lukewarm & mostly vegetables. Not at all what we expected unfortunately.
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, okra, and pot roast to die for. Absolutely delicious. Huge cakes in many different flavors waiting for you to enjoy a slice. Num num
