I am from Texas and pride myself as an expert in BBQ. I go out of my way to eat at all the famous BBQ restaurants. The owner says his brisket is Pime meat and I have to believe it! I had to try all the meats and everything from the brisket, pork, ribs and chicken were outstanding!! The helpings were huge! Just because his location is a trailer outside a convenience store don't sell it short! It was maybe the best I've ever had. With the price of meat, it's not cheap for quality product. Worth a few bucks more. Unfortunately, it's hard on local restaurants to pass on the cost of how high everything has gone up.

We ordered brisket, pulled pork and baked beans. The meat was tender and moist. The beans were delicious! Everything was seasoned perfectly. If you haven’t tried the food at Smok’N Oz BBQ, you are denying yourself a tasty bbq experience!

Driving by and saw the smoke stack going and the cash only sign and we (husband and me) thought, smells good and we have cash so why not! And I'm glad we did. Got to try some samples before we ordered, the owner was very gracious and kind to us and other customers that came by after us and there were several. The brisket was wonderful, very tender and not as fatty as some brisket can be. The coleslaw was cold and crisp and tossed in a vinegarette, and it had a slight kick to it, so it didn't have an overwhelming vinegar taste, it was very good and paired well with the brisket. Had a taste of the ribs and would love to give them a better try sometimes. So dig up some cash, borrow it, toss the couch cushions, go to Walmart and do cash back, whatever you need to do, but this is a must try place. And who cares thats its next to a bar! You don't have to go in, there are places to sit and eat, in the shade outside. The bar patrons could care less about you. The portion sizes are just about right, not every place has to have pig trough portion sizes to be worth the price. It's worth the price for having something unique to eat, or to sit outside, enjoy the weather, and enjoy good food and talk to people you just met.

Ozzy is the man! The food is top notch. Best brisket I've had in the Panhandle. A true gentleman with flair for the smoked meats. First time here. Definitely won't be the last. Just a heads up its cash only. So hit the ATM before you come! Thank you sir!

Excellent bbq!!! Had the brisket sandwich and tater salad. Both definitely on point and a must try!!! Wife had pulled pork, cole slaw and Mac n cheese. She was very happy with her food as well. Didn’t try the sauces, cause in my opinion if the bbq is good, you don’t need sauce… Cook/owner very friendly and appreciative. Only open Thursday thru Saturday and cash only, but definitely a must try if you are in Panama city

Awesome BBQ. Ribs so tender the bones come right out and the brisket is so tender it falls apart. The chicken strips and fries were the best ever - couldn't snap a photo because my son hate them so quickly. Oz's customer service is the cherry on top. A hidden gem worth every penny! Bring cash as he doesn't accept cards.

I got two 3 meat samplers - ribs, brisket, and pulled pork - with slaw, collards, beans, and potato salad for sides. The meat was phenomenal! Tender fall of the bone ribs, flavorful pork, and brisket worthy of Texas. LARGE portions. The sides were quite tasty - especially the potato salad. $25 per meal, which I thought was a bargain because it's easily 3 meals worth of meat. It's a shack next to Vic's, no dining room, carry out only, cash only. Best BBQ in PCB!

Oz has the most tender pulled pork I have ever eaten. Today was my 1st visit and it will definitely not be my last.. If you are at the beach this is a great take out for your family's dinner . He is open from 3 until he sells out Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hands down my favorite BBQ place in the panhandle. I get the brisket every time. Everything is delicious. The potato salad is the best potato salad I have ever had in my life. Even the baked beans are amazing. I have never gotten excited over barbecue in the past, but I’m definitely craving it every week since I started eating here.

Don’t judged a book by its cover. This is not a touristy, dine in type of place. LOL, in fact it’s more like a food truck and a picnic table. But if you are looking for really fantastic tasting barbeque, sauces and sides, and very generous portions to take back to your room, you should give this place a try. Don’t turn your nose up at it like I did for 3 years. They only take cash and are open Wednesday-Saturday from 3pm-8pm, so plan ahead. You won’t be sorry.
