5 of us celebrated Mothers Day at The Tides for their Mothers Day Buffet. A mistake. First problem was upon arrival the front desk was asked where the restaurant was. Was told breakfast was over (it was 11am). A bit taken back we asked about the buffet as we had even called to confirm hours. Finally they got some correct info and directed us.The area was almost empty. No character. Was told someone would be found to get a drink order. That took some time. Was told twice while we waited to go help ourselves. We explained we were waiting for drink orders…Got into the “line” (there was none) a bit hesitant as it was an extremely short table of food. Had to get our plates and silverware and proceed. Salad with ranch or Italian, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, fried Brussels, and prime rib station that had some rolls. Dessert was peach cheesecake and chocolate banana pudding. Mimosas for the Moms.$40 ppWas totally shocked as an ad had read:“MOTHER'S DAY LUNCH BUFFET: 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. seatings available at Tides Restaurant at Sheraton Bay Point Resort, 4114 Jan Cooley Drive, Panama City Beach. Buffet includes raw bar, salads, carving stations with roasted sirloin of beef and honey glazed ham, pasta station, omelet and waffle station, hot buffet, and dessert, plus mimosas and Bloody Marys, as well as kids buffet and Cookie Decoration Station for kids of all ages.”Now it is possible that was an old ad we found on internet. But for the same cost the offerings were totally reduced. And to make matters worse it was sub par. Eggs cold. Bacon not cooked enough. Sausage dry, frozen biscuits not fresh, gravy congealed, couldn’t eat the fried shrimp as it was dried up and cold. No seasoning on grilled shrimp. Mashed potatoes were ok, Brussels sprouts mushy and cold. The prime rib was good. The cheesecake good. The pudding was gross. We are just thankful that we enjoyed being together. But it was not a good experience and it was money wasted. This is not good exposure for the new owners Bluegreen Resort. If you can’t do it right don’t do it at all.

I don't often eat at the resort restaurants because they are pricey. But we were tired after driving all day. First off service was very good, especially considering one server was very new. I was feeling hungry so I ordered the combination Grouper, Shrimp & Scallops grilled dinner with lemon basil risotto and asparagus. The wait time was not very long, so that was good. The grouper, shrimp, and scallops were all overcooked. The risotto was very sticky and gummy. The asparagus was pretty good. I did eat the seafood but not the risotto. Worst $39 I have spent in a while. My wife ordered the fettuccine and said it was just OK, nothing spectacular. Similar to any cafe or diner you might get fettuccine at. Not real Italian restaurant quality, but we didn't expect that. It was easy and convenient but that was all. Again the service was good. BlueGreen doesn't have a lot of properties with restaurants but this was definitely not BlueGreen quality from our experiences.

Food quality was great. The speed of service was as expected. The prices are also very reasonable. There is live music and the dining room view overlooking the bay is quite relaxing. The servers were very courteous, too.

Eggs were sm but good. Overall wasn't that impressed. I am more traditional breakfast . No sausage gravy. $4 paper cup of milk, Thanks .Bacon wasn't all that, or the ham.Stuffed French toast sounds better then what it is.I am from midwest so maybe breakfast is different down here .Note : It was there 1st day of breakfast hours.

This restaurant is romantic and cozy. It’s an affordable upper scale option.Chefs choice, which means the menu changes. For dinner we shared a meal of fried chicken, green beans, and mash potatoes with gravy. For dessert we shared a key lime pie cake. Everything was delicious! We were seated in the corner by the window. While we dined we got to enjoy a breathtaking sunset. The safe was friendly and knowledgeable.

Hit and miss. Redfish pontchatrain is excellent!! The double cut pork chop was tiny and really gross, huge letdown, it was difficult to eat cause it smelled like dirty socks and tasted like chemicals & the collard greens for that meal were flavorless. The garlic mash potatoes were excellent. Husband said his ribeye was great but his sides were also lacking. I'm not entirely upset because we paid using resort credit that we were gifted but if we had paid with our own money i would've been pissed. The price is outrageous for the quality you get. I would expect way better for the price, didn't even seem like they've even tried any of their own food the sell.

I have a love hate relationship with Tides. They do have great quality steaks. The food is always good sometimes great, the Tomahawk ribeye, OMG, is a meal for 2 $60 bring it back more often please. The bartending though is sometimes average and often pitiful. Give the bartender an iPad or something! The view is pretty nice. Locals and Bluegreen owners get a discount on food making it almost supermarket prices.

The server wasn’t the best.. We ordered drinks and we seen it sit at the bar for 10 minutes before I had to walk to the bar to get it myself.. It was not busy, as they only had two small parties to serve yet they still barely checked in on us. But, the food in the end was great. The best Red Fish I’ve had before and the White wine and tomato sauce tasted fantastic along with the asparagus and mashed potatoes.

The restaurant itself is nice. It's small but beautiful and overlooks the water. The service we had was good, but I wouldn't say it was above expectation, if anything, it was below expectation. For a restaurant that we knew we were spending over $125 at, I would expect the food to have been much better. The only things that were good were my husband's pasta, the broccolini, and my daughter's hotdog and fries. I had the $40 filet and it came out sitting on mashed potatoes (which it doesn't say there's gravy on them on the menu) and that gravy covered my steak. It was like the filet was treated like chicken fried steak. Don't get me wrong, the cut was awesome but all I could taste was the gravy and the potatoes since they were all over the bottom of my steak. I did try to wipe it off. I love a good steak and I felt like it was mistreated here. I was asked multiple times within a minute or two that the server was picking up if we wanted a box and I told her we were leaving the next day. Once would have been sufficient for that question...I had just gotten done explaining that the steak didn't meet my expectations but that I had no issue paying or anything. I just felt like the menu should be more detailed or maybe that the customers should have been notified. I thought the chef may have been newer and she corrected us and said no, this is how we always do it but I'll let him know. It just wasn't a great experience. We also got the calamari, and it was not seasoned at all. The sauce with it was almost like mayo. But, we're from Southeast Louisiana, so maybe we're just used to food with more flavor. We were not impressed at all.

I ordered the seared scallops and got 5 really small overcooked scallops for $39 . The risotto was the consistency of day old oatmeal. Also ordered the filet which was just ok. Tasted more like sirloin. The server was clearly new and had no experience serving in any restaurant let alone a nicer restaurant.

The restaurant is near to the bay and has a beautiful view over the bay. The food is very good, fresh and good products , one of the best in the surroundings. Service could be be improved.
