Staff over sold more food than consumed. Conflict of interest. It's best to share everything.
Great 5-star steaks & lamb chops, very good side dishes, and adequate desserts. Our waiter gave reasonably good suggestions. On the other hand, water glasses were frequently empty, and it was very tough to get anyone's attention for a drink refill. Best steaks this side of Boca (New York Prime & Abe & Louie's steaks are just a touch better, and their breads---especially Abe & Louie's---are divine, as is A&L's French onion soup.) Overall, a 4.5-star experience at Platea, and I would recommend it and return.
Yum, yum, yum. Tomahawk Steak, medium rare, with baked oysters and charred Ceasar Salad were delicious!
Delicious food and excellent service. Out server, Anthony, was a great combination of professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The Dino-Rib (short rib) entree is one of the best dishes I've ever had. We also lived the lobster thermador, and the Wagyu tostones. Also whether you bring your own wine ($35 corkage) or get one off the wine list, they'll decant and serve it for you just the same. To top it off, the baled Alaska is very good, and the espresso is excellent as well. Highly recommended!

I recently went to this Peruvian steakhouse with my mom, and we had such a great experience! The ambiance was amazing. It was cozy, vibrant, and filled with great music that made the evening feel special. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The staff were warm and attentive, and everything felt very welcoming. I’d definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great Peruvian dining experience.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant four times and every time we've been there it's been an excellent experience no complaints service food ambience everything is perfect. Love this place.
Everything is delicious. Love the fried ceviche. Filet is chef's kiss and all of the sides are excellent. Tomahawk Tuesday is a win.
The service was top tier, no glass of water or wine empty- the meals were beautifully plated and the vibes are high end and intimate. Local gem.

Love the restaurant in general! Food, service, and ambience was amazing & at the highest standard!!!
We started with the tostones and ceviche and it was spectacular. The porterhouse and baked Alaska followed. Complemented by service, it was a pleasant evening with my family.

The ribeye and the tostones are ten out of ten. My favorites so far.The service is also outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was extraordinarily good.... Not used to find this service in Miami anymore. Great job!
The tomahawk steak, potatoes, and dulce de leche dessert were great. The "peruvian" salad dressing and white sangria were not favorites. Also, no full liquor license here, which is a shame for this type of restaurant. Hopefully, a full compliment of tasty cocktails will be able to be offered in the future. Go after sunset - the sunlight in the dining area is harsh before then.
While exploring the Miami Spice restaurants, the menu offered by this restaurant was found to be very intriguing. As an avid foodie particularly when it comes to beef, I am typically uninspired by most steaks finding the need for extra sauce to add flavor. I specifically asked the server ( very professional gentlemen however I forgot his name) about the options and was specific on adding salt to the meat. He assured that the ribeye was seasoned Peruvian style so I went with it. Hands down best ribeye I’ve had at a restaurant. It was cooked to perfection and the fat was properly rendered. My apologies to the server who I can’t recall his name. He was very good and we tipped accordingly. This place is excellent and I will be back.

For special occasions, I've been a long-time customer of Capital Grill in Brickell, but not anymore. I was blown away with everything at Platea. The four of us all agreed and we all shared a bite or two. For me the ribeye with the bone marrow butter was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Can wait to go back.
